I suspect that, even if he had stayed, DA would have been looking for another RB and Oscar would have been a utility squad member.
Respect for his whole hearted performances for us and good luck with his new team.

"Utility squad member'. ! You have to laugh. Who the hell do you think Adams is signing in the Summer?

Slightly peeved off with him to be fair.

If he went to a championship club he would get my thabks and blessing but to Belgium? Really?

And no fee either. Another kick in the balls from an important player.

What is your problem. He gave 100% for us but he is no different to the current generation of footballers. They have opportunities in a global market and have every right to take up what they perceived to be in their best interests.

All modern day footballers are bag carriers and do what they and their agents think is best. He worked for us, got paid by us and now has a new challenge. Thanks for what you did and good luck in your future career.

My ā€˜problemā€™ is that weā€™ve lost a decent player. Second to that weā€™ve lost him to a league that isnā€™t comparable to that of higher L1/championship standard. Thirdly we miss out on any financial reward for his development whilst at our club which would have been applicable if he had stayed in England.

Before you get your knickers in a twist remember that this is my own opinion of which I am entitled to have.

You canā€™t blame him for making this move. Argyle obviously miss out on a fee, but that isnā€™t Oscars problem. By going abroad, his new club get him for free which in turn puts him in a great bargaining position as regards salary.

No brainer for the lad really.

Iā€™m not blaming him. Iā€™m surprised by the move as it is a slightly ā€˜out of the ordinaryā€™ kind of move for a L1 player that has some potential to move further up the leagues to then make a sideways move to another European country barring Spain or Italy.

I do hope it works out for him. No hard feelings but just surprised to be honest.

Itā€™s like having a mid range Mondeo, saving for a while and maybe having the chance to buy a low spec BMW but chooses to spend it all on a top of the range Dacia Sandaro.

Itā€™s salary. No fee means his agent can nicely factor that in to salary negotiations. That wouldnā€™t be possible with a move to another club in this country.

I donā€™t think heā€™d be a first choice full back for any Championship club. He could obviously get more wages at a lot of other league 1 clubs, but he wouldnā€™t be in the bargaining position heā€™s in now as regards Ā£Ā£Ā£ā€™s

Did a solid job for us. Good luck to him.

NO FEE...because Oscar's birthdate is 15th Feb 1994....so that makes him 24 now.

I would like to think it was a right back with the qualities of Gordon Nisbet, for example.

Connolly was rather good.

Oscar didnā€™t specialise well or look a natural fit in any given DA position, guess that was his detriment. Sometimes, other managers, that can work: like Stevie Morgan, guess other times not.

Thanks Oscar for your skill, effort and ability. I donā€™t see us getting a better replacement but have my fingers crossed DA finds a wee gem.

Shame to see him go. Thought he was a real solid player a bit like Sawyer. 7 every week.

Kenny Brown was probably the best RB i've seen. He stood out in a team that was on the down. We did OK when his Dad was in charge then Kemp came along...

Argyle really donā€™t have the finances to allow our better, younger players to walk out of the door for nothing. He is a very useful player and one that would carry a decent value now and the prospect of much higher worth in the next couple of years.

If Argyle made unsuccessful attempts to extend his contract last summer and in January then ok - these things happen. If however they let his contract wind down before making an extension offer in the past couple of months then Iā€™d call that financial negligence and it wouldnā€™t be the first time

I really hope the new CEO has a good understanding of how transfers work and gains maximum return from our leavers - a league one Daniel Levy...

Will do well to sign a better RB in my opinion. Thanks Oscar sorry to see you go.
