All this rubbish about why he would prefer to come to us than any other football club is just that, a load of rubbish.
ALL footballers have a very short career, and they must maximise their returns from playing professionally.
Money talks, and he will go to the football club that will pay him the most wages.
Correct. Players are no different to any other working man. You have to maximise what is best for you and your family. How many times do we see a player kiss the shirt badge of a club and a couple of months later after a transfer or loan see them doing the same to a different club. Anyone who truly believes there are players who want to join or play for a club because it is their home club to the exclusion of financially attractive alternative options need help and counselling.
We don't know his personal circumstances though. There must be some tie to Plymouth or he would have declined by now. It could be he has elderly or unwell parents, his partner might live down here, he may want to start getting a house built for his retirement. There are loads of reasons why he may want to sign for 18 months on less money than he could get elsewhere.
He has got ties down here, he’s from Plymouth, his family still lives down here, last year (I think it was) he brought a apartment on The Hoe.
Apparently he’s said for a while now that he didn’t wanna leave us and would love to come back and play for us. With the Club and especially Adams haven’t said a word about this since Saturday doesn’t mean it’s bad news, maybe he’s got a few lose ends to tie up at Wolves, for example his house etc.
He would be a terrific signing for us and has gained a lot of experience since he left us.
Come on Joe come home and pull on the green shirt of your boyhood club.
