We don't know if Mason is carrying an injury or not. He's played just 31 minutes of first team football since early October and if he is injured that might be the reason why he hasn't signed for a club just yet.
He had injury and illness issues while at Burton.

Even if he's not injured it will take a while to get match fit.

I guess there’s no actual reason for a deadline, as he’s a free agent and our pursuit presumably isn’t getting in the way of other deals. Or maybe it is, with J Grant out.

Either way, it feels like a free shot. If we get him, then great.

The reason there is a deadline is because Adams wants another forward and will look elsewhere if Mason declines the offer.

He knows who is staying or going by now make no mistake the contract situation will have been discussed if not offered Adams is too professional not to have discussed them.
As for mason he may well have signed and not being announced ahead of Bradford for some sort of tactical surprise
He may not be signing at all but we will know something tomorrow because errington will surely be inclined to ask

We will know nothing until he signs for us or somebody else. Until then, DA will just straight bat the questions away.

He's an alternative to GC and Lamerias so would strengthen our squad. If one of those was to leave at the end of the season we would have a ready made replacement who arguably is a better player. He can also play as a number 9 as another option.
