The quicker this stupidity about people standing at football matches at certain grounds gets kicked out the better.

1) People can stand at Exeter but not at Plymouth = Stupid
2) People can't stand at the back rows of a football ground = Stupid
3) People wanting to stand in front of people who sit = Stupid
4) People thinking that all seater stadiums are safer = Stupid
5) People who say us prawn sandwich old people are against standing = Stupid

The law is an ass in the case, it needs to be reviewed and changed.

Wrong on a number of counts. The current situation like it or not is that HP is an all seater stadium and you purchase a ticket on that understanding. If you do not like that do not purchase a ticket and balantly ignore the regulation.

It is somewhat irrelevant whether or not you agree with the regulation. Many many people believe that the motorway spped limit should be increased. However it is what it is and those who ignore it risk prosecution. Some people believe capital punishment is reasonable in certain circumstancesthe law says not.

Sweeping statements based on the views of a vocifirous minority is not necessarily reflected of the majority. With regard to seating it may come as a surprise but a ticket purchased equals a right to a seat and therefore an expectation of an unobstructed view. In the old grandstand those seats with an obstructed view were sold with a warning. Do tickets in block 14 get sold with a warning that regulation breakers may well block your view unless you also stand?

100% you complain to the manager of Wetherspoons that your meal was cold after you've finished eating it.

I think both 'sides' need to sit down, talk it through and move on.

A silly word at the wrong time, can kick this off and I'm sure looking at the testimonials above, it'll be sorted.

I know No4 steward to talk to, a very decent chap, as the family seem to be.
It would possibly help if the club side responded to some of the letters written by the supporters side.
Supporters had a letter from Mr Back and the club at the Wycombe match.
I know several of the lads have written letters but not many have had replies.
Let's see what the cup draw brings tonight....

The Club this season has on numerous occasions and by differing means outlined the policy on standing and in particular persistent standing in Block 14 and the potential consequences but some people for whatever reasons seem to have ignored that advice and then get upset with the Club when it does what it said the consequences will be.

Take away the vociferous minority at a game of football and you end up with an atmosphere akin to a theatre. Is that what you want?

I don't understand how it is that all parties can't get what they want. It's so, so simple to arrive at a compromise in which all parties will be satisfied.

This 100%.

The atmosphere was terrible on Saturday and will only get worse.

You can't moan about the vociferous minority on one had, and then the poor atmosphere on the other. The two go hand in hand.

Politely sitting in your seat and not swearing doesn't create an atmosphere.

Without atmosphere football is nothing.

Oh yes of course you have to be stood up to sing, clap chant and create an atmosphere, oh and of course swear! An essential part of showing your support! Clubs receive letters from the FA about fans conduct and you of course may find that Argyle are just doing what is required of them by the FA, which is follow the rules that have been laid down. Argyle don’t create the laws they just try and get the fans to follow them. Or perhaps we should just flout them and ignore the FA representatives who are frequently present during the games.

Yes you really do! Sadly a few people sat down meekly clapping and chanting doesn't create an atmosphere.

Everyone has their own expectations of supporting the team, if you want to sit passively fine, if you want to create an atmosphere that should be encouraged. The post I quoted was about compromise and that's what needs to be found.

At the moment Argyle seem to have a zero tolerance policy and its destroying the atmosphere.

But you sit there in your library be all means.

From what the Club has said they have little or no problems with people in the Devonport standing, so if you want to stand go there, simple really.

Ok Stuart house, best you go to the next Disabled Argyle supporters meeting, and you tell them that because they are not jumping up and down, or standing, that they bring nothing to the atmosphere, people can shout, scream, clap and swear just as well sat down.

Being season ticket holders for years and years in the Lyndhurst why would they now want to go to the Devonport?

Because you can create such a great atmosphere from two blocks of one stand LG :sigh:

Hang on...were these lads really chucked out for stepping over some empty seats? I mean really? The punishment doesn't seem to fit the "crime".

That's the problem I'm having in getting my head around this particular saga. Young lad stands on a seat and suddenly everybody is getting thrown out, not just once, but again at the next game as well as claims of 'assault'. There's a video clip of Stewards surrounding a bloke who refuses to go with them where nothing else seems to happen other than arm waving and a raised voice.

Couldn't care less who was at fault to be honest, but an explanation and presentation of the full story might help.

So what part of your anatomy stops you sitting and singing? Perhaps you should see a GP. He may be able to subscribe something.

Nothing if you're in a choir.
