Points based ticket priority

I don't like posting Palace stuff on here but here is how our Loyalty Points work.

Season Ticket 500 points
Membership 200 points
Home games non ST holders 20 points
Away games in London plus Liverpool, Man U, Southampton and Brighton. 20 points
All other away games. 40 points
Home Cup matches. 20 points
Away Cup games. 20/40 points TBC once draw known
Away Season Ticket. 580 points (which is the same as the total of all individual away tickets)

In addition you earn 1 point for every pound spent in the club shop, club bars and matchday food outlets.

Loyalty Points totals are cumulative and are NOT reset each year. Last season most away games opened with sales to those with 6,000 points, then 4,000 in the second phase but varied depending upon the popularity of the fixture. It then went to general sale where no points were required.
So i renewed my season ticket again this season again with the outlook of only making 6-10 home matches but the fixture calculator was not in my favour and will probably only make the 1 possibly 2 matches at home at the very most but this gives me the chance to get tickets for away matches which are a bit closer to me.
Depending on how the points system will work i.e. 230 points for just buying the season ticket will the club then add into the equation of if you attend a match lets say another 5 points per attended game at home, as London Cabbie stated Palace give points for attending away matches but also sell an away season ticket is that another +£400 season ticket to buy.
I don't work between November - Mid March but I'm also in a financial position that I can afford to buy both season tickets Home/Away if that was a way Argyle decided to go and if I wanted to beat the points system, but would this not again be against the Argyle supporters who would prefer to pick and choose which match to attend.
I fully understand that due to the milage I have to travel 544 miles in each direction for each home match and a minimum of 248 miles each way but that is a part of having a guaranteed seat where I want with people I know.
At the moment as a season ticket holder if an away match sells out during that early stages that is purely down to demand by other season ticket holders but going on the points system I could have the full amount of points going forward but not have even attended 1 match in a season just on the off chance of a Chelsea type match or being more optimistic Argyle reaching the top end of the Championship or even the Premiership.

But how does this work with the season ticket points as in Argyle position they will buy back tickets for a sold out match
Unofficial transfer is not allowed.

However, when the ground is sold out, If you wish to sell your ticket back to the Club, then they will be able to sell it again to someone else.

Until photographs, or similar, are put onto season tickets, people will always find a way of making money, when the opportunity arises.

I don't believe that Argyle go out of their way to stop this from happening, but should it come to their attention then it would be frowned upon, and maybe not then allowed.

I doubt there are many who would buy a season ticket just to get the points or to have an away ticket guarantee rather than want to actually use it to see matches.

Lol I guess I must be one of the few then, placing my cash in Argyle with hopefully a few matches at home along the way, but the main thing for me is making the away matches

In the future DG if Argyle become an established Championship side or make the promised land of the prem then a lot more exiled Argyle supporters ( including myself who has over a 500 mile round trip to Home Park) would have to follow your current situation and purchase a season ticket to have the best chance of being still able to get to away games and the odd home game where possible.

It will and always has been, about supply and demand and the more successful Argyle are the bigger the demand.

The only problem then for Argyle would be the stagnation of new supporters due to supporters like myself going forward having season tickets but unable to make all of the matches.
The fixture computer could not have made a worse fixture list for myself if it tried this season no home matches in November, maybe Morecambe at home in December but ironically my closest match as only 496 miles round trip to where I live. On holiday for the 4 main matches in Jan/Feb (Ipswich Away, Derby home, Sheff Wed away and Portsmouth home) but nothing I can do about that.
Part of the trials and tribulations of being in the Green Army

So in theory, there’s nothing stopping me buying a Fleetwood away ticket despite not going, just to get more points, to ensure I can get to the games which will likely sell out, especially Exeter, later in the season?

I guess so. The club could announce the Fleetwood game is a sell out, as an example, but in reality only 200 Argyle fans attend the game.

This seems a fair compromise made by the club. There’s just one part I’m confused about (and it might be just me)…

Portsmouth, for example, is our 5th away game, so the order of priority would look something like this:

270 pts (S/T holders who attended 4 away games)

260 pts (S/T holders with 3 away games)

250 pts (S/T holders with 2 away games)

240 pts (S/T holders with 1 away game)

230 pts (S/T holders)

However, it mentions about earning 5 points for home games. Presumably the club are not talking about S/T holders buying additional tickets; they are talking about non-members.

But would they still be behind Flexi/BGL in the priority, even if they have more points because they may have attended more games?

And if so, does that mean general sale will also be split into different dates to give priority to those with more points?

I suspect that we may be able to work out if that is happening, by a big increase in the number of Fleetwood away tickets that go on sale at face value on here for fans who can't make the match at the last minute.

I think the club need to explain it better, maybe in list form as you have done.

At this stage we are still ironing out the finer details, but wanted to update supporters on the results and the direction of travel.

A proportion of tickets will be reserved for selected fixtures assigned as high demand, but it's important to remember that this is just a proportion, and the majority of tickets will be assigned in the same manner as last season.

We will explain in further detail when a relevant fixture occurs, but points will be accrued by all supporters in the meantime, as outlined in our update today.

In short, if you are a season ticket holder who has also attended a large quantity of away games, you will be offered an additional opportunity to purchase your ticket first, should we expect that tickets sell out, before they become generally available for all season ticket holders.

Thanks JY appreciate this. Sure you are on the case but how do children or others who are not the actual purchasers but go to away games get points. In our house the bank of mum and dad normally physically pay, but our two kids do attend away games. How do they get points, there is no use if all the points get assigned to me only?
