His fee will be significantly higher than £20-30k.

He’s worth £200-400k at the low end
I really rate our captain, and I think I voted him POTY last year. However, the harsh fact is that at RWB Sessegnon is an upgrade, and one with probable resale value. Joe potentially returns to holding midfield. Question is what do Fulham want and does Schuey and his back room team agree that is worth paying?

Don’t agree Sessegnon is an upgrade. He may be technically better but Joe will run until he drops for the team and deserves to keep his place.

And his wage expectations will be championship level too unfortunately. Our best bet/only realistic chance is for him to sign his Fulham contract and return to us on loan.

If Schuey wants to improve the team’s intensity of press then it will require the ability to get up and down the pitch. The role of the wing backs is an essential element in achieving the necessary intensity. I thought it noteworthy that he picked out that Joe Edwards had covered 7km in the second half. Equally with the acquisition of Miller the key is the addition of pace and with Butcher the key is additional power and athleticism.

No doubt the recruitment key performance indicators will highlight what type of player is needed to deliver what will be the implementation of Schuey’s first full season of recruitment and planning. I do wonder with the advent of the 5-substitutions rule we may see full out running for say 60-70 minutes and then impact substitutions otherwise the higher intensity press is going to be difficult to sustain each game let alone a season. Many Premiership teams adopted this approach last season.

Upgrade is the wrong word. Very different players with different strengths. It wouldn't hurt to have another option on that side. Nobody is going to beat Joe on work rate energy desire etc. But there other useful qualities that Joe doesn't have.

I’d take a goals per game factor pretty highly for a striker.

I get the sentiment but as long as the player is fit, within budget and not a complete tosspot (Ladapo) I rate the ‘goals per game’ element one of, if not the highest of stats that I would be interested in.

So you’ve said it’s ludicrous to say there’s only a little between them, but also that goals per game is one of the highest stats you’re interested in. Based on the goal stats from Wikipedia, excluding non-league:

Jephcott GPG (all comps): 0.32
May GPG (all comps): 0.28

In league games:

Jephcott: 0.32
May: 0.24

Next season… you have a choice of Jephcott OR May being at the club.

Which one would you pick?

There are several websites that state players wages and they quote between 1600 and 5000 pounds per week as his wages on his last contract.

Marquis, Garrick (who can provide cover at RWB) and probably loan cover at CB, with Galloway and Bolton not fit yet.

Very possible that Ryan Law is on a 12 month contract and the club have an option to extend, by sending him out on loan for the season, he benefits by getting regular game time and the club can monitor his progress. What will be interesting is what level of club will take him, if he goes to a club below Conference National, then he would need to excel, be recalled and then go out again after Christmas to a higher level.
However, the fact that Ryan is earmarked for a loan move would suggest that Conor Grant is unlikely to be leaving this summer, as this would leave us with Grant and Miller competing for the left wing back role .

That’s true, SS saying he wants Law to go out somewhere for a 12 month loan tells me Grant is going nowhere and the Preston rumours are a load of bull.
