I sent a message to Argyle regarding Seip's inclusion, this is the reply:

As per the original article, the players available to vote here are those ranked highest in 'The Greatest Pilgrim' vote which took place in 2019. This allowed every available player to be chosen. Marcel was ranked 7th so that is why he is included in this vote.

That's fine, but what's happened is that a poll that was already skewed towards recent players, has now been put to Twitter to whittle down and being skewed even further.

Excitingly we do have a Jack Leslie statue, greatest Argyle moments, and a second XI to come... which I'm really hoping is some sort of wildcard selection and not just the runner-ups from this vote. Because we'll have a first XI AND second XI from 2004 onwards 😂

If Argyle players were cars, the majority of offerings on show at Home Park over the years could be compared to humble runarounds with backfiring exhausts and crumbling paint-jobs. But in Paul Dalton, Pilgrims fans were treated to the sight of an Aston Martin cruising up and down their left flank for three years.

Are any of the Argyle staff who arranged this nonsense fans of long enough standing to remember pre-2004, or have interest in the club's history before that date? I suspect not, but since it is clear that the club wants the "all time" legends team to be restricted to the last two decades, it matters not. Just a pity that they couldn't recognise that they could have achieved their intention without winding up a lot of fans.
