Hardie defends from the front better than than any of our forwards in my opinion giving opposition defenders less time to pick a Pass. Looking forward to having him back in the team.
For me Jephcott defends from the front the best of all our strikers..

How can support for one of our best players* to counter exaggerated and continual, unreasonable and slightly
deranged criticism on this forum be considered toxic?

(* - based on stats, based on his reputation among and the opinion of opposing managers, based on our current and previous manager, based on opinion from neutral podcasts and other media, and based on his rare ability to scare the life out of pretty much every defence he's come up against this season , as for example in his most recent appearance vs Championship side Birmingham, which we won and in which we kept a clean sheet, rather than the 9 goals in 3 games we've conceded since )
I would suggest much of the above is equally deranged, and as often with you, bears little relation to actual reality. More like a make believe world with no actual substance. To take just one example he hardly played more than one half v Birmingham but is apparently responsible for us keeping a clean sheet for 120 minutes. Don't let facts get in the way of a good story! Laughable.

Just stating facts Clive. Which is actual reality. Real metrics. Based on historical proof. You should learn how to read them, instead of finding random clutching-at-straws time periods(13 games ??? - When has that ever been used as a metric in football? 🤣) that only serve to reveal how desperately starved of evidence your continual toxic claims against our most prolific goalscorer this season actually are.

Ah so 1 goal in 13 games is not a fact? Must have dreamt that one up then. But supposed podcasts(???) and the opinions of opposing managers(???)and 53 mins v Birmingham obviously ARE facts with much more substance. That argument of course is full of evidence (must of missed that bit). Makes little sense as usual.

Here are some stats Clive:

RYAN HARDIE vs HARRY KANE (season 21/22 so far, league only)
MINS ON PITCH: 1891 vs 1612
GOALS: 9 vs 5
ASSISTS: 4 vs 2
SHOTS PER GAME: 2.6 vs 3.2
PASS COMPLETION %: 67.4% vs 73.3%
AERIALS WON PER GAME: 1.2 vs 2.1
MAN OF THE MATCH: 3 vs 3

Ryan Hardie's stats so far this season compared to England's no.1 centre forward, Harry Kane.

You could argue either way as to who has the better stats, but all should agree that they are pretty equal over all.

I'm sure you'll be salivating over the fact that Kane's aerial duel wins per game are higher than Hardie's, but actually, considering Hardie's known weakness is his aerial prowess, it's no surprise.

Only my view but To be fair you can’t really compare Hardie and Kane when one plays in an elite division and the other does not..

Other argyle forwards' aerial duels won per game :

Jephcott: 0.2
Ennis : 1.3
Garrick: 1.0

(So Hardie has the second best average in this category among our forwards)

Other Argyle forwards' shots per game average:

Jephcott: 1.7
Ennis: 1.3
Garrick: 0.8

(So Hardie has the best average shots per game among our forwards)

It's relative though, so of course you can.

Point being I doubt there's an irrational hatred of Kane among many Spurs fans like Balham Green's hatred of Hardie, and yet their stats are comparable, relative to their level.

But Kane isn’t having a great season in the eyes of many..

I have no idea why Hardie is being compared to Kane. This debate gets even more bizarre.

I've given you comparisons to Argyle's other forwards too.

But that's too easy.

It doesn't surprise me that you don't understand how you can compare the stats of 2 CFs from different leagues though, judging by the irrelevance and randomness of the stats you do use.

Some of us live in the real world rather than 'Football manager'.

So how do you think the Data analysts scout players from lower divisions, and decide if they're equipped to play at a higher level?
Perhaps they don't. Perhaps they just use stats to identify potential players then somebody actually goes to watch them? Surely not. But if Hardie's stats are similar to Kane then according to that ridiculous argument he should be playing at international level. Ha ha
