Let's hope Neil doesn't go to Stoke not Ricky Martin has been hoofed. The whole dynamic of this club could be completely different in a few months.

Pre Boro press conference.

Errington asked re backroom staff. Nothing happening currently. Reference to people becoming available.

Did say we weren't missing Elliott Turner though.

Said we weren't missing the fitness coach days after putting one of our worst performances of the season down to all of the players being tired?
This post is an example of why the reaction to Tuesday is different Bristol City. No matter what the bloke says there will be people jumping on his words. The ‘fitness coach’ would not have been able to make players recover quicker between games and even if he could do you think Argyle have completely stopped doing everything they’ve been doing for the last 2 years??

Part of the fitness coach's job is to track and monitor fitness and performance levels and to intervene when needed. Foster's approach of 'players letting him know when they're tired' is very amateur. We know that's his approach, because we've been told it is. The fitness coach would also be helping with player recovery, and would likely be suggesting alternative players who could rotate into the team if clear performance levels in training have dropped due to fatigue. There is a huge amount that goes into the role of fitness coach that we are currently missing. I 100% believe that as a squad we would be in a better place if we'd had a fitness coach in place.

You think that we have dropped all the technology that tracks these things and ignore it? Do you think Elliott Turner took it with him? 😂

I can only go off what Foster says. He might be using the technology, but is he an expert with it? Most managers aren't, otherwise you wouldn't have fitness coaches in the first place. When it comes to what we have heard Foster say, and what players have said regarding this, there's very little to suggest that he is focusing on this. Lets also not pretend that Foster is someone who doesn't know how to deal with the media. Hallett said on the podcast it was one of the attributes that was necessary to be media savvy. He's not shown a great deal in his interviews that fills me with any confidence. Talking about how we've had great nights against sides much worse than West Brom, which talks down the achievements of the players who were here before him, and in the build up to Boro him trying to defend the West Brom game by talking about how we were in the game for 60 minutes, as if we're a plucky non-league side in a cup tie.

Foster has said that if a player has run out of gas or picked up a knock in a game to put their hand up, and someone will come on and finish the job for them. He’s not responsible for covering the work that Elliott Turner was doing, he’s said several times that we have other people in the building that can cover that.

There is someone taking his place, but he has not been made a 'fitness coach' per se.

Not sure why a club that claims to be open to the fans can't just update us on the backroom staff situation.. seems very hush hush.

There was an update yesterday?
Maybe not. But it would be nice for the club to have come out and said that IF will be doing most of the work on his own until end of season etc . Maybe even announce the position and identity of the mystery man on matchday moments. I just find it odd how we had so many back room staff now we have hardly any. We must be saving a fortune on wages from the first team and coaching staff plus the compensation we would have got for the management team.. since the turn of the year.
