There fanbase hold us in very high esteem for that. When we were promoted most of the comments on the BBC were NUFC fans congratulating us and saying how much they want us to do well in the Champ
The Sunderland fanbase on the other hand. . . .

Well I still feel Newcastle owe us one for the humiliating way we allowed them to celebrate promotion to the Premier League at the end of the precise game where we were relegated from the Championship. Maybe they will cover £49k of his reported wages!
Really?

Nothing humiliating at all unless its in your character. We were soundly beaten all season and they got back to the prem.

Thought the club was class that day when we were in a very precarious position (as we all know now).

"Playing we are the Champions" over the tannoy system was a ridiculous decision.
Sorry dont agree. Vale were good to us last season. Treat people as you would like to be treated 👍.

Some people just hold grudges when it's not going their way. We had an awful season (and quite a few after). Newcastle were going back to the promised land. They deserved what the club did as we did last season at Vale👏

The ridiculous thing was Argyle fans joining in on the pitch invasion celebrating …… when Argyle had just been relegated
This, it was all very embarrassing! Would Chelsea at home to Spurs play 'We are the Champions' for Spurs if the result also meant Chelsea got relegated, I don't think so! Different at Port Vale and they were classy but the result had no impact on them

Some of you are getting a little too precious over it, it is what it is and I thought and still feel it was the correct thing to do.
Others will forever beat the club for it but it's been and gone now, also, who's to say we wouldn't do it again?

Big difference was that Vale weren't relegated against Argyle.
