The very reliable Pete O'Rourke says we're in for Isaac Hayden, who is being discussed on the Jan transfer thread but probably deserves his own thread.

He's a 28-year-old 6'2" midfielder with 130-odd Premier League appearances and 65 Championship games under his belt. He was also in the England age-group set-up at the same time as ND.

This would be an unbelievable signing.

I love the way that, just because Argyle are mentioned in the same sentence as clubs like Blackburn or Brum, it becomes a dead cert that Hayden is joining us 🤣

Gotta love football fans.

A mate at work, who is a Toon ST holder said this when I just asked him

"He’s a quality player- VERY injury prone. Plays the game as full pelt- he would be a beast in your midfield. He was unlucky towards the end of his time at Newcastle with the emergence of the Longstaffs and then Joelinton. Couldn’t get a game. Was one of Rafas better signings- came through ranks at Arsenal to give you an idea of his technical ability!

If you can get him, he would be a game changer"

Quite injury prone according to Norwich fans
Yep, he's had knee problems but made eight successive starts for Liege up until the end of November. His problem over there seemed to be that he wasn't particularly happy and the coach seemed to publicly round on him when his performances dropped off.

He needs a fresh start and where better than HP? Reviving careers is practically our MO.

Another very exciting prospect - and great to see Argyle linked with this calibre of player. Known to Dewsnip through the England setup, very experienced, and would have played alongside Pleggy in the Arsenal youth teams.

Our physio team have been doing an excellent job with supposedly “injury-prone” players. Exciting times.

On that, is it pure coincidence that Miller and Galloway are both doing well since their recoveries under our new Physio?
