That's my fear as well. They've been with him throughout his time as a manager as are as much a part of the success as Shuey himself. I can see us losing the whole lot as the "package" would surely be a lot more desirable than just the manager on his own.
that much depends on what the Stoke infrastructure is around the manager, ie if they have a Director of Football Operations or not. But yes I totally agree with your point

I’ve got a lot of respect for Warnock but his style is just at odds with what the club have been building in recent years, I don’t think Hallett/Parkinson/Dewsnip would go for him. I think if Schuey does go we’d be looking to poach a League 1 manager or give an opportunity to a coach from a PL club.
Yes, I take your point and in normal circumstances I would agree with you, but our particular immediate need this season now, if Schuey goes, is to dig in and stay up and that is Warnock's speciality and he is a fan of the club and he lives around the corner...

Wonder if I can start a trend if I put money on Ryan Lowe to Stoke.

I would be disappointed if Schuey's name wasn't mentioned for a vacancy. The calibre of the club though is a barometer of how well regarded he's becoming in the game.

Stoke wouldn’t approach Argyle without knowing that Schuey is interested. It doesn’t really work like that. They’ll have sniffed out his intentions prior to initiating anything formal.
Nobody ever approaches a club to ask to speak to the manager. Its a formality the manager has already been approached.

The saving grace appears to be that there is a shortlist and he is one of several names under consideration, also his family are very settled here. They have made a number of close freinds, his son is currently in the academy.

So who knows what to think!

With the sizable increase in TV money next year I think we'd HAVE to go for someone like him, he knows the league and would be about staying up

I agree completely around this being a change in direction from the club's model though and the huge risks with that.......if it were to happen

Please don't let this be true.

I'd almost feel more annoyed than when Lowe left, at least that was (allegedly) in order to save his marriage. This would purely be about money - there is no other reason you would leave HP for Stoke City.

Grim northern poo hole tick.
Deluded and impatient supporters tick.
Likely to get the sack within 18 months tick.

Don't do this Schuey, you will regret it. I bet Lowey wishes he had not gone to Preston now, you will be in the same boat as without Messers Dewsnip and Hallett, you will not have the support and reassurances a young manager needs to succeed, especially at a club like Stoke where expectations far outstrip reality.
Couldn't have put it better its a huge amount of pressure so early on in one's career that is only going forwards.
Stoke is an opportunity yes but also a huge opportunity to start going backwards if things don't work out.

In life there will always be opportunities to make good money but if you rush it that's when things go pete tong.

Stay with Argyle for another 12 to 18 months Schuey Your time will come.

I find it very hard to believe we or Schuey would have held talks with Stoke on a match day. Although this clearly has legs, I do think the helicopter may be a false flag.
I hope so Nobby - but the Coates helicopter landing next to HP at 6:30pm on a Saturday?

Its f*ck*ng p**takey mind....

If he goes then Carsley would be a good fit for us. Young ambitious with a good pedigree. Who knows might be able to persuade Dewsnip to oversee his first managerial role at Argyle

If he does leave will he get the same treatment Ryan Lowe now gets?

I don’t think so as I genuinely believe that Schuey is invested in and cares about the club, he’s also far more likeable and genuine. I’ll be disappointed again and a little surprised, but not in the same way.
