No huge surprises, though I probably expected Conor to stay and Brendan to go (though I imagine he may go next year). Wouldn't disagree with any of them, though I agree we need more pace at the back.

Conor and Danny will be on their way back north and "released" is a mutual parting of the ways - they wouldn't accept the contracts we would have offered.
Mayor had an offer on the table Grant didn’t but as you say it was pretty much known that Danny would head back up north

One difficulty with Conor Grant is where do you play him in the current system? If you play him and Edwards as WBs, you have 2 WBs lacking in pace and the ability to take defenders on, and we become too predictable. That's where Mumba has made such a huge difference. Conor can play in lots of positions, but it's difficult to see him being first choice in any of them. You then look at him as a versatile squad reserve, and his fitness record means he is too often unavailable.

Good guy, loyal servant, sublime left foot, but this is probably the right decision. Everyone will wish him well.

Of those offered contracts, we desperately need at least two of Hardie, Ennis and Scarr to stay. The problem we face increasingly from now on is that if larger Championship clubs fancy our players then they can offer significantly more than we can.
I'm not sure where I saw/read it but someone said that there is ALWAYS a player out there to replace the ones you lose. I'm confident that our recruitment team will find the right players for us. It's what we did last season and we'll do it again.

No real surprises in there for me - and I would be confident that the club have dealt properly with the people affected.

I would also be confident that ND and SS are very clear on their targets already. This will not have been a shot gun process and a plan A or a plan B will have been in place weeks ago.

Best wishes to all those moving on and thank you so much for your contribution to a memorable season.

And Danny - seeing you with your lovely family on Saturday was special. I hope you get to see a lot more of them next season. Thanks for some wonderful moments

So gutted DM is leaving, he would have been a great option next season. His work rate is excellent, he knows the tactics inside out and he appears to be popular around the squad. I know he divides opinion, but for me he was usually really effective and exciting to watch. If the weaknesses in his game (scoring and perhaps quality of final ball) were on par with his work rate, ball retention and dribbling ability, he would have been playing Championship football for all of his career.

If you read this - thank you Danny - it's been a pleasure and good luck where ever you end up!

Connor Grant I have always really rated. Probably one of our best players technically but he was so disrupted by injury that I can't see how we could justify offering him a decent contract, so it makes sense for him to move on. I just hope that his injuries this season (thigh and groin?) weren't excessively aggravated by him continuing to play last season when he wasn't fully fit but we still had a chance of promotion.

Disappointed about Luke Jephcott but probably Championship maybe slightly beyond his abilities, particularly in the style we play. He will go on to have a good career and in the right team will score goals at L1/L2 level. He has an excellent tactical understanding of the game and is extremely disciplined and hard working. Would be an excellent free transfer signing - just look at his stats before this season.

James Bolton has shown he knows how to defend and ability wise is on a par with our other defenders but his injury record is horrendous. Really feel for the guy and hope that he gets on top of his injuries and gets himself a decent club. If fit, I think he would be a good signing for any L1 club.

Out of the ones we have offered contracts to, I'd agree with all of them although I can't see Wilson playing as many games as he has this season and I imagine that will be reflected in his contract offer. Obviously we don't know the details of our offer but assuming it's one year, he could get a two year offer elsewhere which give him a bit more security towards the end of his career.

Galloway obviously has another year, I'm not sure what would have happened if he didn't have that clause in his contract. He is a decent player and probably the quickest of our current defenders which makes him an asset. If he stays fit, his physicality may just see him pip Gillesphie in the starting line up. With his injury problems, I don't think we would have offered him a big contract if he had been free to leave.

Good to see Jack Endacott sign professional terms, a season out at L2 or Conference would really bring him on. I like the look of him and think he could have a decent future ahead of him.

Overall a good basis to the squad assuming that Hardie and Ennis both sign, I fear that we may lose at least one of them.

Galloway might still leave. The club can just get a fee for him. Considering a poster on here was certain he was off to London, that might be what’ll happen.

With six loan players plus Mayor going and Cooper still out injured for the forseeable, we'll be short of at least eight key title winners, possibly more.

Not ideal having to manage a major squad re-build while also stepping up a league, but the loan system has helped us outperform clubs with far bigger budgets so we have to live with both sides of it.

I reckon Houghton and Wilson will re-sign and Scarr has spoken positively about staying. Less confident of Hardie and particularly Ennis.

6 loans? If we're counting whitaker, he was replaced in January.

I'm not gutted about Mayor leaving despite me loving him as a player and a bloke, it's the perfect end to a great four years of service and just feels 'right'.

No surprises there, I opened up the article slightly dreading a brutal releasing of people like Jordan Houghton and James Wilson, so pleased they've been rewarded.

Gutted gutted gutted to see DM go but we all knew it was on the cards. Just hurts now its in black and white. Don't blame him hes got a young family. But thanks Danny your one of the few individual players i pay to watch. Real miss. As for the rest its not looking great in my opinion, even if we sign good players its a fair bit of rebuilding even if they all sign all the offers. Surprised at Grant but i think DM brought the best out of him down the left.

Danny has been brilliant for us, wish him nothing but the best. Also gutted for and a little bit surprised about Conor but it’s a tough one with his recent injury record.

I imagine Parkes being released means we’ll be signing another keeper.
I expect Zak Baker to be the third choice goalie, being the sub until Cooper is back and then sent out on loan.

If I was recruiting for Wrexham Conor Grant and Danny Mayor would be two brilliant signings for them. Both North West lads too.
