The thing is, what do these people get out of putting money into Argyle?

Even if its not property development, they will be expecting a financial return. That part hasn't been explained.
The Club will exponentially grow as a result of investment. A new training complex say built for 2m would be valued at 3m for example. That's the way property works.

All other investment would add value too.

The figures I used are figuratively speaking and not a true representation. However, as an example, I know someone who bought a building plot for 75k, built a house - materials 50k and its worth, according to Estate Agents 225k.

Up here Blackpool have a planning application in for a £30M training complex , Fleetwood's cost £8M.
I'm not saying it's peanuts, but wondering what £2M would buy you. 🤔

£30m??? For Blackpool? That can’t be right.

You're right, just checked local press, the £30M includes the building of a new stand.
My Seasider mates full of bull as usual 😂

Think it's around £12m they are spending on the training ground and improving the academy to category 3.

That's a bold statement!
As they would say on Dragons Den- show me the figures to back that up.

Development is only worth anything if its sold on for a profit.
Lets say the investors paid for a training facility. How are they going to make money from that? Are they going to sell it to somebody else for a profit? Or are they going to want a cut of any future transfer fees?
They'll be wanting their money back one way or another. They are not making a charitable donation to the club.

It increases the value of the club and consequently the value of their stake. So if in the future they want to cash out and sell their stake, they would make a profit

They have 20% of the value of the club.

If the value of the club increases then their 20% increases.

If the assets of the club increase in value then their 20% increases, eg. If training facilities are improved, then the value of the club increases.

Promotion to the Championship assures an increase in the value of the club.

Promotion to the Premiership ensures a hundredfold increase in the value of the club.

Hence the value of their 20% increases as the value of the club increases.

Lots of people have tried to say this on this thread, myself included, but this post is about as clear as someone can make it. Yet still some people won’t get it.

Chairman outlines the priorities for infrastructure improvements

I also read that as Simon has not closed the door on future investment from him but importantly not to cover club losses. Infrastructure he is less opposed to and describes infrastructure investment as "a much more palatable prospect".

How fortunate we are to have him.
