Next up:

Bans for those who stand and sing
Bans for those who have any alcohol trace in there system...

We are succumbing to the snow flake generation. Football RIP. I was born in the wrong era.

😂

Apart from the fact Argyle are pro-safe standing and almost certainly bringing in standing sections, massively encourage singing, and you can buy alcohol at various points around Home Park (and sponsored by St Austell Brewery)... that post makes complete sense (y)

A reduction in the amount of idiot dust getting into grounds and up people's noses would solve a lot of this.

l think Argyle will tighten security to the point that if you want to get through your going to have to make some effort because l wouldn’t be surprised if they introduced netting around the pitch. Or something to that effect.

Make no mistake. They will fine / ban you. The problem is the minority who behaviour caused some ugly incidents. This is now the result.

l doubt magistrstes will care if it’s 10 or 5,000. It’s just more money to them. And remember they will be filming it all so if they don’t get you on the day, they will get you later.

They had to do something because of the fear something stupid will happen because of the way a minority of people been behaving seen covid. They can’t take the risk.

You can’t say now you haven’t been warned.

I certainly won’t even consider going on the pitch now.

In the 70s I ran across pitches on quite a few occasions.

Now? I'd take my golf trolley. Might as well get a few shots in, but I reckon I'd been banned for life.

Mind you, I notice that the little VW remote controlled bus brings the balls on now, I was a trend setter when I sent my remote controlled yellow truck on in the 80s.

Although, there were masses of smoke flares (remember, these are not distress flares) set off at the recent F1 in Austria. So many that the stands were covered. No-one complained and no one made a fuss. Sometimes I think all this moaning about smoke flares is caused by middle-aged fuddy duddies who have a loud voice but forgotten what its like to have any enjoyment in their lives. Rules are rules and anyone who breaks the rules should be sent to the colonies ... for ever. That will sort things out. Standing will be next ... perhaps the state of the pasties too ...
"No one complained and no one made a fuss"? Are you Boris? By all means use examples to support an argument, but stick to the facts.

There have been numerous reports about these flares.

That’s even more dangerous than the flares, judging on what we saw last season and the idiots that got on the pitch.
Going back to my original question which I appreciate wasn’t specifically aimed at you. How can a pitch invasion be at the expense of others’ enjoyment should there be no shenanigans?

Last season saw, I believe, the largest number of arrests for football related offences for several years. We also saw assaults on players and managers on the pitch by spectators. Much as they might look good, lighted flares can be dangerously hot and toxic.

So unless you're misguided enough to think that this is all part and parcel of going to football then you have to accept that the authorities have to tighten up regulations. The majority of fans who just want to want to go to the game with friends or family, maybe have a pint, a pasty and a bit of banter while supporting their team have nothing to worry about.
Far too sensible, Dorset.

I don't think anyone is against celebratory pitch invasions as such, and we wouldn't be having this discussion if the invasions themselves were the issue.
Perhaps the rule should be: please enter the field of play at your discretion and without intent on shenanigans.

All those who feel it's their right to run on the pitch to celebrate should listen to the players. Every player I have heard comment on this subject, have said they no longer feel safe and want fans to stay in the stands. They will happily enjoy a promotion with laps of honour. Its their work place and authorities have a duty of care. Sorry to be a killjoy to some but I think it is important to listen to the players we support.

The few have again spoiled if for the many, it is the way of the world. Going on the pitch now is viewed as a hostile threat and as such cannot be tolerated, get over it and celebrate / support your team from the terraces

Having been around since the 60’s I’ve seen a few special celebrations and disappointments for both ourselves and our opponents. I’ve never once felt the need to kick someone’s head in or go onto the pitch to enhance my experience of attending a football match and supporting the team I love. There must be something wrong with me!
