Back in April the Club published its Environmental Plan, flying to Spain wouldn’t seem to fit in with the Club’s stated aim of reducing its carbon footprint.
If it’s offset of course it is. We are a professional sports outfit, in the real world we have to travel to games and prepare properly.

Really dissapointing! I was looking forward to seeing the lads and meeting you guys! especially as i was unable to go last year.Estapona is a non starter must be nearly five hours away, apart from which as you say the opposition wont be up to much, Preferente standard at best I would think!? Still, could be a useful exercise fitness wise.
That is what it's all about getting fit and trying different formations/tactics. Yes the opposition, with respect, won't be the strongest we have ever played, but they will be giving it there all, for sure. I used to Ref in Gibraltar, many years ago, and I have been told that Europa Point are the best on the Rock and that they try to sign young players, not just from the Rock, that have fallen through the net at fully professional clubs.

Shuey did say in interview that having the whole squad together in Spain they can have 3 sessions a day .
Apart from training , team bonding , he will have more time to have 1 to 1 chats and evening tactical meetings.
The trip will feel like 3 weeks work achieved in 1 week
So you have to fly several hundred miles for 3 sessions a day? To somewhere too hot to train outside in the afternoon? Makes a lot of sense.

Not sure what the standard of opposition will be Trev501? They are a Gibraltar league team aren't they and the Gibraltar national team only has about one or two former EFL players doesn't it? At least Wimbledon were equal opposition but it's very early in the pre season I suppose.
Its not so much the match Jerry, it was more the opportunity to get some action pics of our new players as well as the old before the season starts. Personally I was also looking forward to seeing the team'in the flesh' for the first time in ages. That will have to wait now for a slot hopefully later in the year.

Aah I understand. I have pencilled in the 3 games over Xmas and New Year so far but hoping to get to Lincoln away in November before that.

The afternoon heat is irrevelant, that is their rest period between three sessions a day. Early morning and mid morning sessions and an evening session and sensibly resting during the hottest few hours of the day. Makes total sense to me.

Makes no sense to me at all. They go somewhere for warm weather training where its too hot to train. I thought that was the point of going.

Aaah so you think they should train from dawn until dusk without a rest period? It isn't too hot to do 3 sessions a day so I really don't understand your point?
