Aren’t Noparkway 7th. So not necessarily a way lower standard than some of the friendlies we are used to.
Parkway would be every bit as good I would think being part of the 7th tier regionally in England. It is difficult to compare. Only La Liga and Secunda A are full time. Some second tier clubs are B teams of 1st tier clubs as are some 3rd tier teams. Secunda B is made up of about 300 part time teams spread in various regions and then the Tercera leagues are even more local to different regions and provinces.

We are told it is warm weather training. Heatwave in UK next week. Is it really necessary to go to Spain in July? January I get.

Can't be guaranteed over here can it. Plus it's more of a bonding exercise going abroad.
So the trip was put on for the two new signings to bond with the rest of the players.
Does that mean the team be going away again when the other 3 signings arrive?

You have to go abroad to bond? The weather in July is pretty guaranteed to be warm at least in UK.
And it's too hot to train in the afternoon outside we are told. Makes a lot of sense!

I was there Sep 86 to Aug 89. Lived in BV, on the way into Gib Reg barracks. I helped out with an ex-pat kid's team. Some of the under 13 teams we played in the local league had lads who were 6 foot and already shaving!!
And that was just the girls.

Dunno, you're probably better off asking a pro footballer. It's just my opinion that a trip abroad is more of a bonding experience than staying in the UK.

Perhaps there are better facilities available at a lower price? That might be another reason so many English clubs are going over there besides just bonding and the guaranteed weather.

Shuey did say in interview that having the whole squad together in Spain they can have 3 sessions a day .
Apart from training , team bonding , he will have more time to have 1 to 1 chats and evening tactical meetings.
The trip will feel like 3 weeks work achieved in 1 week
