Yes I remember a figure of 2.2/2.4 millionish to do the corners and I guess that includes extending the grandstand roof forwards as wasn't that to be done at the same time?
Personally, I hope it is high up the "to do" list with capacity brought somewhere approaching 20,000. I know finances are tight but we will have a good million of unbudgeted income this season from the FA Cup and higher attendances.
I don’t get the constant obsession of some supporters in creating additional capacity, when history shows it’s not required, surely infrastructure improvements that are actually going to make improvements to the club are a better investment, maybe also on the squad, anyway I sure the subject will come up again when we’re drawn against Man City in the next round of the cup😉

On the sunny side of the street
I wonder if the club are reviewing the contracts with the original contractor.
Certain remedies are available in contract law if a contract is not 'performed specifically'
Would have thought the main beef would be with the architects they would be responsible for the design, the contractor would have built it from the plans given. The corridor behind the grandstand is the same width it’s always been, the issue has arisen from filling in the eaves under the grandstand with air on units. People used to stand in these areas although with a crooked neck, it’s surprising how much space has been lost in what was deemed to be dead space.

So you can buy your seat?

If it was an old wooden one (like in the old Grandstand) you could put in your garden then l think that can look kinda cool. I’m not sure though about the plastic green thing l currently sit on.

It is nice that we are updating areas of the ground. My only confusing bit would be are we putting in new seats in the devonport end? As surely down the line soon we might put safe standing in that area perhaps.

I sit in the upper grandstand and can't relate to all the negative comments. Seating is fine, view is great and concourse only an issue because of COVID, never a crush.

Seems some people just like to criticise for the sake if it rather than appreciate people are doing their best.

No obsession on my part but do we look backwards or forwards? Do we settle for the odd foray in the 2nd tier with a stadium 3,000 to 4,000 capacity smaller than the last time we won promotion from League 1?
Since that time the ground improvements and the facilities therein have helped see our fanbase increase by several thousand so what ambition is there in having a smaller stadium to fit in larger attendances?

Then on that logic we might as well go the whole hog and knock it down and put in an 80k seater.

Yes the fanbase has grown but its not like we've got a waiting list.

This season most matches see the seats between Zoo Corner and the away fans empty (bar a couple of games). There have been 2 or 3 sell outs in years and mostly this season.

We could put in another 6k seats at great cost to the club (probably resulting in debt that will impact playing budgets etc for years) on the off chance we get another big game.

Just accept it, Plymouth Argyle is not currently drawing in 20k plus supporters and won't be for a long time. Why add the financial burden that comes with expansion?

It clearly is an issue if the club are spending 10’s of thousands of pounds to rectify it.

As I said, COVID has created an issue in the concourse that needs to be addressed, how many saw that coming.

Was expecting worse TBH
It couldn't be any worse. Imagine a queue of people on the left of that photo, many others stood around drinking and eating on the right, and then a flow of people going in both directions down the middle.

It makes for an extremely poor customer experience at best, and a Covid nightmare or potential fire/emergency crush at worst.

The concourse is ridiculously tight and that was said pre Covid.
