There is some sense in it, that's for sure. He's scored most of his goals in League 1, I'm pretty sure he will end up in This league anyway and Colin is an ally. It will all come down to whether terms can be agreed.

Just saw Wales on line Warnock is trying to find a club for Craig Noone... weve got enough wingers of course but would anyone like him back at the club ...

Absolutley
Straight swap with Wylde then?

...meanwhile in this universe DTGM is sadly right, we've got no space for him with Wylde, Grant and potentially Carey for that spot.

Although clearly more potential to deliver than Lambert if the money touted is right for RL, and Noone is on similar, that would be just as much of a waste given the players we've already signed for that side of the pitch.

Seems Lambert rather than Noone more likely then, who'd have thought this a couple of weeks ago!

Information from "sources close to the Herald" ? Shouldn't that be sources close to the player? Sources close to the Herald could be the guy sat on the next desk leaning over the partition and spouting off any old codswallop!

Most Herald stories on Argyle are lifted from these boards.

Might not be to everyone's taste should Lambert come here but it does show how far we, as a club, have come in the last 4-5 years since nearly disappearing...

... and Lameiras, Ainsworth and Jervis. We've got plenty of 'em!

Adams does have a track record of sprinkling his squad with older more experienced players like Fox and Nardiello and he tried to sign Alan Smith.

I think Wotton and Warnock are key to Argyle signing Lambert on-loan.

Was trying to think what you meant with Wotton but of course they played in the same Saints team for 2 years

I am also reminded of the expression, 'all fur coat and no knickers' . There is the possibility of financial danger here, if the figures being bandied about are correct. Let Mr Tan take the strain rather than Mr Brent. This possible swan could easily become a coot, IMHO.

Players like Owen, Torres and (to a lesser extent) Rooney, who rely on their speed and explosiveness are likely to massively deteriorate in their 30s.

I'd put Lambert in the Sheringham and Ibrahimovic category, they've always been one yard ahead in their head. Even if he fails to deliver, his signing and Carey's resigning is a huge statement of intent, will make the city drool and could make the wages back in shirt and ticket sales.

Combine that with the grandstand construction halfway through the season, and Plymouth Argyle are seriously back in business.

Moved form rumours to main board.

Are we any more certain that it is still any more than an unsubstantiated rumour?

Credible rumours can be posted on the main forum during the summer months and this one is gathering pace.

What Adams doesn't want is a ageing, over paid, prima dona to affect the team spirit that he has created in the dressing room and on the pitch.
