We don't need a goal scorer as much as we need a goal creater. We create so little in games that Shearer in his hey day would struggle to score in this team.

Sounded like our new guy at the back, A Post did alright too

They hit the post once, we hit the bar once vs MK Dons. What’s your point?

They hit the post twice if you include Luke's save onto it near the end.

I agree it was a "battling" performance but I must take issue with the OP's comment of a "rock solid" defence. They got in behind the full backs way too often and should have done much better with several golden opportunities they had.

Luke was immense and Songo'o and Bradley played well but a lot of it was last-ditch stuff. But they had far too many good chances. However, it was rather reminiscent of last season where we rode our luck defensively but unlike last season we created very little up front. Cifti did OK and is improving with more game time but he had very little decent to work with. Set pieces were probably our biggest threat but with little success down our flanks crosses and wide free kicks were scarce. Sarcevic was a much needed presence in mid field and it was good to see him back.

We'll be happier with a point than they will, but if we don't step it up a bit it's going to be a a long hard season at the bottom end of the table.

A step in the right direction.

A battling point and a clean sheet thanks mainly to a one legged Luke McCormick who made two world class saves late in the game.
Just minutes before those saves McCormick was badly injured and with all three subs already used he had to stay on the pitch and thank God he did.

We still lacked composure in front of goal and Bury are the same as us, they created good chances but couldn't score.
This point was built on a good defensive performance with Bradley back to his best.

The game was a struggle for two struggling teams and short of any entertainment with most of our good attacking play coming in the first half.

We missed some good chances - Ness fired over when he should have hit the target, Grant tried to be precise instead of just hitting the damn thing, Ainsworth was through on goal but didn't trust his left foot, by the time he switched feet he was closed down and might have even won a penalty, Ciftci tried for the top corner and was saved and Sarcevic had a chance to shoot but declined and instead tried to pass.

The second half lacked any kind of excitement apart from McCormick's saves.
Fletcher replaced Ciftci and we lost momentum, the ball didn't stick up front.

Bury missed several good opportunities and also hit the post.

Sarcevic has made a big difference, Ainsworth was poor and should have been subbed much earlier .
Ciftci put in a good shift against two huge centre-backs.

The defence was rock solid.

We still need a goal scorer but we've known that for months.

You couldn't fault the players for effort.

Man of the Match McCormick.

McCormick 9, Miller 7, Songo'o 7, Bradley 7, Sawyer 7, Fox 6, Ness 6, Sarcevic 7, Grant 6, Ainsworth 4, Ciftci 6. Subs Fletcher 5, Lameiras 5, Jervis n/a

Doesn't make sense. How was the defence 'rock solid' if Biury missed several good opportunities, hit the post once(twice?) and McCormick was mom?

Our summer signings that featured today did not come across well, lamerias, ainsworth and grant do not look good at this level and shouldn't be starters IMO. Likewise fletcher, very poor in the half hour he had, makes you realise how much ciftci does in getting us forward and making the ball stick shouldn't be near the first team.

A big ask expecting a young lad like Fletcher to play on his own up front. I do wonder about DA sometimes.

2 draws from 4 away games is just about okay for a newly promoted team....but clearly 3 home defeats is the problem to date....however...it's key that we had 10 men in three of them.

Results show that if we keep 11 men on the pitch we can win at home! Need to start next week.

Does't McCormick count as art of the defence?

And the post I suppose as well. Sign him on.

Given recent results and our next three games this is not a good result in my opinion.

stopped the rot and we had a bit of luck for a change, luke motm with at least 3 superb saves bury hit the post 3 times thought ainsworth looked ok at least he tried to take player's on, why did sarceveic pass when he should have shot with that chance in the first half.

Once again we cant beat a poor team in Bury who are in as bad as form as us.
Awful and if we want to stay in this league we need to at least threaten the opposition goal once in a while.

Only positives from today was an away point and no red cards, other than that we look like relegation fodder

I often think you're overly negative but today you're spot on, unfortunately ...

A well earned point, heart in mouth stuff at the end but held on. Bury are debatably worse than us at finish, there number 7 was causing problems all game. Good defensively without Edwards, songo puts in 100% some great blocks. Ciftci looked good with some intelligent passes. Ainsworth awful shouldn't be starting, fletcher was very poor as was lamerias. As soon they were on the pitch we had nothing going forward and put us right against it. Grant had an awful game aswell. Ness needs to be more composed on the ball, fox usual reliable self, all the defence and McCormick can hold their heads up. We look so light up front never looked like scoring, sarcevic makes a big difference to us as a team and has been missed.

McCormick 9
Miller 7
Songo'o 8
Bradley 8
Sawyer 7
Fox 6,
Ness 5
Sarcevic 7,
Grant 4
Ainsworth 3
Ciftci 7
Subs
Fletcher 3
Lameiras 4
Jervis hardly used

Unfair on Fletcher as he needs to be in a two, once again you need to look at Adams formations.
