I ask this because I’m always on the lookout for films I haven’t seen or had forgotten. My top 5, in no special order are:

Doctor Zhivago
Cinema Paradiso
Godfather 2
Radio Days
Some like it hot
Cinema Paradiso - brilliant.
Nobody's mentioned Mike Bassett England Manager!

The Breakfast Club would be my sixth choice, a masterpiece and a good reflection of the 80s. (y)

That’s exactly how I would pick.

Top Gun Maverick
The business
The Rock
The Hangover
Gran Torino

I’m very easily pleased. I’d also add The Wolf of Wall Strest.

In no particular order

Leon
Shawshank
Star Wars (the original)
Trainspotting
Con Air

Sep 10, 2010
197
21
Eastbourne
Gladiator
Die Hard
Raiders of the lost Ark
The Goonies
Terminator 2

To the original poster, check out "Hunt for the Wilderpeople" it doesn't make my top 5 but it's close to it, very funny quirky film from the brilliant Taika Wahtiti.

After someone in work said “Good luck!” in the office today, I had to spend a long time explaining The Great Escape to Canadians. So for that I will add it to the list.
