I agree with the principle of having cover for potential covid absences , however by doing so and signing a greater quantity of players we would probably end up with a lower quality of player , which would almost certainly see us have a season of struggle.Thing is we have to prepare for Covid absences also.
If , with the signings we already have ( whom appear to be an upgrade in terms of experience on last season ) we could afford to add a couple more of experienced league players and also add another 2 , 3 or even 4 loanees , that would be great ,however the manager would then have to accommodate all these players with game time , which if he did would do little to encourage our talented youngsters and if he didn't would leave us paying a group of players that we weren't using .
I would love to see a bigger squad , but I believe the club should be careful not to bring in more than is needed on the off chance we have several covid absences , it is quite possible our youngsters are capable of providing over on the bench when necessary.
