Hostile vehicle mitigation is part of the protect duty recommendations. There have been a number of consultation meetings to determine best approach as a number of stakeholders need to be engaged:

Life Centre
Central Park
PAFC
Park and Ride

A recommendation by a specialist will be issued for review by all groups. The vehicle mitigation barriers/system at Drake Circus is a combination on bollards/Rhino barriers etc. These require consultation and in some cases planning permission. Those discussions are being had, and as part of our car park development we will be implementing some around the shop & ticket office. In addition, the statue is being co-ordinated alongside these plans.

Thank you for your response which is always appreciated. However, with the greatest respect the issue is not with the Shop, Ticket Office, Life Centre or Park and Ride. The issue is with cars parking in the service road between the turning to the life centre by the vets (Mayflower Drive) and the exit to Outland Road opposite Segrave Road at the other end of the car park. Not only do they park here but as soon as they have collected their friends/family they then drive off through the thousands of people leaving the ground. As a disabled fan who is not as nimble as I once was this is of a great concern and reached a peak after the Shrewsbury game due to the large number of cars who came to pick up children who were attending from the DJ&M league. I saw one car door get kicked by a fan who was nearly in collision with the vehicle. At away games this season Sunderland did not allow the movement of any vehicle for 30 minutes after Full time even from the stadium car parks whilst Charlton , Chelsea and Birmingham City all close major roads outside the stadium after full time to allow safe egress of pedestrians. I am of course not implying that Argyle would need to close Outland Road but it is clear that allowing vehicles on this service road is an accident waiting to happen.
