I know the team is 100% committed to bazball, but with some more intelligent batting yesterday we should've easily ended up 400-420 runs ahead. Bairstow was going along great and then played a really poor shot.

The end of every Ashes series comes with a tinge of sadness but, for me, this one more than most. The end of some fabulous test careers always marks the passage of time… Broad, Anderson, Ali and Warner (though he may play ‘til he is 50 now Broad is gone 😁). Increasingly, Ashes cricket is becoming isolated as a magnificent fragment of how sport should be played. The sportsmanship between the players was great to see today. Maybe I am just getting old but that is how it feels tonight.

Fantastic! And I'm a little sad it's all over but what a great series, it ebbed and flowed and no team really got on top. Australia were match ready for the start of the series and some of our players were not but we gained momentum as the series progressed and if it wasn't for some awful weather at Old Trafford we would have won the series.
