Will we regret the way we threw away our final 4 or 5 wickets yesterday?

I know the team is 100% committed to bazball, but with some more intelligent batting yesterday we should've easily ended up 400-420 runs ahead. Bairstow was going along great and then played a really poor shot.

The story of our Ashes.

Rain delay: Australia need 249 runs to win with 10 wickets remaining.

Looks as though England will be saved by the weather again. Tin hat on, back to my glass of white wine.

Loads of time for a result tomorrow either way. Forecast is okish.

The cramped schedule for the Ashes this summer really has allowed no space for reserve days. Administrators really should ensure these are available going forward I think.

Who knows what the outcome might have been had a sixth day been available at Old Trafford and, potentially, today too. Still a chance the rain may stop and allow the game to finish today though.

Have there ever been reserve days for test matches?
