Tonight really feels like a cup final. Haven't enjoyed a season this much since... well since the last time we got promoted to the 2nd tier :scarf:

And so the end is near....or is it....well rationally yes....

Over 2000 greens will send their team off to a well deserved break having achieved what pretty much everyone will agree is a site better than we hoped for before the season started and a damned site more than we expected after a disastrous first twenty games.

And yet.....

No-one will quite give up on that slim chance that Rochdale, with the debut of their new supporter ( surely there must be a deadline for bringing in crowd based saviours) Jesus needing a win to keep them in League 1 next season ( and as clubs and fans go I for one hope they make it whatever our outcome) will thump the living daylights out of over confident player resting Charlton Athletic....whose one nil win over Blackburn came from a deflection meaning they actually had no shots on target!

And every goal they score without reply means the target at Gillingham ( complete with their own Billy Bingham!!!) becomes lower for Argyle....so up the Dale!

So a Bridge Too Far or Mission Impossible:6 Goal Difference?

Obviously the team will be shaped by a) a need to score goals and win and b) who the hell isn't currently in hospital or a doctors waiting room.

So gird your loins, don your fancy dress, don't forget the ridiculous start time courtesy of Sky, remember to take your player recognition chart so you can spot the debutants and lesser spotted reserves, tune in the inter web to the latest score page, cross every digit and cheer the team that wouldn't give up from minute one to minute ninety whatever....and then again afterwards.

And if they won't why should we.....

See you at Priestfield for the Resurrection that doesn't need an imported Jesus, a damaged Moses or a slightly suspect Church....

The roller coaster has one final loop to negotiate, and the best things about roller coasters is you can always get back on and have another go....
