Wonder what would have happened if the most in form batter in the world wasn't run out without facing a ball in the 2nd innings......

What a game, to play for 5 days and be separated by 1 run is amazing. Shame its such a long wait until the test team get another game in!

The Test scheduling for England has been very weird this year, gaps all over the place. And scheduling the Ashes for June and July (to make room for The Hundred, God help us) just feels all wrong.

Not if you'd replaced Crawley!!

I spoke to my son this morning, he said its was the best sporting experience of his life, watching through his hands at some point (i was at Edgbaston 2005, so he had to try and catch up). Whats great is the reaction of both teams, no hard luck stories from England, no pointing at officials, back luck, bad weather, just proud to be involved in such an absorbing match.
The lad was lucky enough to speak to Brook and Duckett after the game, both more than happy to spend time talking to supporters, signing shirts etc - exactly what top level sport should be.

I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to say McCullum and Stokes are saving Test cricket with their approach. Other teams just have to follow suit now.

The Ashes should be a great spectacle.

Long live Test matches!

I don't mind losing games like this, cricket was the winner in the end. A pity there isn't a third Test.
