He has effectively said we financially can't afford to sack Adams, and that we can't compete in league one until we take in more revenue from the new Grandstand. If we go down, we will likely come back up within two seasons

With the crowds we have been getting how watching this team are we over budget? unbelievable

Do not forget 20% of the gate receipts are lost to VAT. The club does not pay VAT on players' wages as a quarterly counter claim. This tends to put a different slant on perceived income volumes.over only 23 games per season

Plus the only assumption in the calculation is that tickets pay wages, we've got costs to worry about beyond that.

Ignoring the normal match day expenses (stewards, food etc) we're also renting the offices while the rebuild is happening, salaries of admin, shop, ticket office, ground staff, marketing etc, medical expenses, repairs to horseshoe, transport yada yada yada.

I know other clubs have these expenses but not all are the same.

Looks like the club will have to employ fewer staff then both match day and non match day to become viable. If you can't make ends meet on gates averaging 10k with some of the highest admission charges in the league, then one wonders how many more you need to turn up at HP to make Argyle sustainable. As for VAT.all clubs pay the same rate so no difference there.
