Macey would have probably saved it as he'd have been rooted to his goal line as always.
That's not necessarily a good thing though, the ball was in their half. Chances are slim that they would try a shot like that, chances are even slimmer that its actually on target. At this level nine times out of ten that goes into the stands for a goal kick at which point we're laughing as they've just wasted possession on a long range effort.
Equally if your keeper is stood on the goal line and the opposition ping a ball over the top he has much further to run to sweep the ball up, for a less mobile keeper like Kyle that can be the difference between him easily beating a forward to a ball over the top and being in two minds as to whether to come off his line or not.
I'm not saying what he did was blameless, only that being off his line there wasn't a wholly bad thing. The reason this thread isn't full of people berating him the same way they would Micey is that we still took home the points. That for me, in part is down to the defence being more sturdy and conceding fewer clear goalscoring opportunities than with him in goal. Kyle having much less to do for the 3rd game in a row is pointing less and less towards coincidence.
