Heard a rumour yesterday so vague it's barely worth repeating but apparently a midfield replacement for Toums is lined up and apparently 'it's not someone you would have thought would sign for us'. The inference was it was a relatively big name for us. The source was a bloke at work who allegedly spoke to someone linked to the club in some capacity. I don't know any more than that but surely the 3 players who have left plus likely departure of Blissett means there is space in the squad and some form of budget available.

To be fair, Blisset wouldn't have been 'someone you'd have thought would sign for us ' either:.

That is the other interpretation I suppose!

Each transfer window does seem to follow a similar pattern in recent years.

Start of all optimistic, then soon come to the conclusion Adams first choice list has been and gone and we’re on to the back ups.

On paper he was a decent looking acquisition.Although we know games are not played on paper - plus our formation didn't play to his strengths.

Did we see it as a panic signing at the time? I’m not so sure. Yes now looking back it certainly seems like it could have been a panic buy but We’ve all got a degree in hindsight.

i think putting the ball in the back of the opposition's net was the problem Phil. I saw all but one of games and he was a dud.

It was only after 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and probably some other targets became unavailable for whatever reason.

It was then a ‘atleast get somebody in’ because we were pretty light upfront.

He wasn’t doing anything at Celtic, didn’t fit in with our formation, didn’t fit in with our effort standards and didn’t do what he’s paid to do, score.
