Well the team will have plenty of time to think about it on the coach journey home

Actions speaks louder than words & what kind of response will we get on Saturday

Will Schuey make wholesale changes to ensure this type of performance does not happen again

I know football is only a game but the players should feel utterly embarrassed for that shower.

They did nothing right and were far to over confident and cocky from last Saturday.

Charlton didn’t have to do much, we rolled over and handed them the match.

An inept and cowardly performance and wholesale changes are needed for Saturday.
I agree, as professionals they should be embarrassed at the lack of consistency.
As I say I've seen worse players have worse performances but not a more unprofessional half than that in terms of individual errors from more or less all the players.

p.s. come back soon Danny Mayor!!

Cowardly, Tuggers? Bit ott.
When you lose a man against a team who will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season, it will always be an uphill struggle.
Personally I thought it should have been just a yellow, red card AND a penalty seems like double jeopardy to me. I would argue that it was unintentional, but I suppose rules is rules.

Jephcott is not fit enough to wear the shirt. Came on at half time, rarely broke into a jog, no pressing, barely ventured 20 yards either side of halfway, no influence and weakened an already depleted team. Meanwhile the lads who’d played 90 were still battling for their pride to the final whistle …

To be fair to the lad - he’s a striker, not a right sided number 8. Completely played out of position - that’s Shueys fault.

Just before Charlton’s second goal I was about to say that I thought Argyle were getting properly on top in the game and had every chance of going on to win it. But I held my tongue for a few seconds knowing that to say such a thing would be a curse that brought a Charlton goal. In those few seconds Charlton won the ball and the penalty was awarded. Just thinking the thought was enough to jinx things.

I can’t remember watching a game where we passed the ball to opposition players or out of play as many times as we did in the first half. We looked fairly bright when we were attacking, especially just before the second goal, but we’re never going to get anything out of a game when we give the opposition so many gifts.

I was critical of Wilson after the Peterborough cup game and I‘ll say the same thing again - he just doesn’t look at all happy on the pitch at the moment. Something feels wrong there.

I have no idea what SS was trying to achieve with his substitutions. It was like a random assortment of changes designed to muck up any shape or pattern that the team might have been trying to build.

Whittaker’s goal was nice but boy does he need to remember that he had teammates.

If Galloway is fit enough then he should start in place of Gillesphey on Saturday - he was really excellent when he came on tonight. I’d also put Lonwijk in for the suspended Wilson and suspect that he will hold onto the place when Wilson is available again.

I thought Charlton were an excellent side - very fluent passing, switching the ball quickly and with real attacking threat - a very dangerous team.

Embarrassing but preventable. We gave the ball away too easily. Hopefully our one poor performance, long way to go yet.

Charlton look good at the moment, it's easy to see why they've already got one more point than us.

Maybe OTT.

But they lacked anything positive and progressive tonight. Always the ring decision and no one was able to grab the team and command some calmness and composure.

That riles me because mistakes happen. You make one and hopefully strive to not make it again but it was continually. It was clear as day thy we needed a change and nothing.

That lacks courage in my opinion and showed naivety.

Interesting comment from someone who started the "over reaction" thread.

Thats not an over-reaction. It was based purely on what I just witnessed. Can you think of many worse 45 minute performances from an Argyle player?

Despite his impressive goal I wouldn't be fussed if Whittaker doesn't start on Saturday. Several times he had the ball in good positions but was too greedy and ignored players in better positions.

Mayor is the better option.
