When i was a volunteer for the Ottawa Fury working at the 4th officials table i found the Huge and i mean Huge screen very helpful to me, at the table we were in line with the centerfield line and we found it hard to watch the game at that level especially as the field is crowned so you only see the players from the knee upward on the other side of the field. The game was shown live on the screen, and showed replays of everything, a few times the 4th official or the ref would tell us to stop showing replays of controversial plays, which by the time i radioed it up to control the play had already been shown. So for me the screen was great, but if i was in the crowd i would not watch it as the game was played but i would find it useful on replays. The screen was at the west end of the stadium and the screen was back and front and was used for promotions of events, schedules of games and lots of advertising and runs 24/7/365

I’d rather people were actually looking at their surroundings than down at their phone for yet another couple of hours a day.

Totally agree with Graham’s post, the Argyle TV stuff and pre-match and half-time interviews etc will be great on a big screen.

Just PLEASE no American rubbish like Kiss Cam and other horrors.
I can't see how the Argyle TV stuff would work at all. How would we hear what is being said?

I cannot see the need for a big screen (or any size screen for that matter) at Home Park.
Even though I'm getting on, I usually know what the score is, I can estimate how many of the 45 minutes of any half have passed and I'm not bothered about scores from other games until I get home.
Although, perhaps one could be used to display the ticket number you were given when ordering a pint (coffee, Bovril), to inform you when said pint (coffee, Bovril) has finally been poured? Just think of the joys of people getting out of and back to their seats even more!

I think people just have to accept that it might not be something they personally want, but others (particularly the younger generation) really do, and this is something that every club of any size has. And I think within a few games of seeing interviews and highlights and line-ups etc, they'll forget a time when we didn't have one.

I'm not a massive fan of the huge screens if they detract from what's happening on the pitch (as they absolutely do in the US), but most clubs in this country use them quite well. I thought Cheltenham's was really smart and quite subtle, and had really good content that I'm sure we'd surpass easily with some of the creative people working at the club.

The old wooden seats were uncomfortable but you could rent a cushion for a shilling.
I'm a property photographer and I photographed a house in Normandy Way 8 or 9 years ago. I remember the old boy who lived there said he made cushions for the Grandstand.

I'm pretty neutral when it comes to a big screen/clock/ score board / TV/ Advertising hoarding - whatever you want to call it.

From a personal point of view I fail to get excited at all, but as long as it brings medium term profit (as opposed to revenue), then it's an asset. However, if that is to be the case, it means a lot of advertising, which many will moan about! I tend to agree that some fans see it as a glitzy toy that other clubs have and we lack. Some of the justification is fairly weak. For example the idea that half time interviews will be "great" with this screen somewhat overeggs it, whilst I wonder what those who "need to see the time" have done up until now.

I think it's fairly obvious that this innovation will need to be accompanied by an upgrade in the PA system. It's happening, so we might as well embrace it!

I don't think that's a weak justification at all, and I think the interviews will be great. The club have invested a lot of money and people into Argyle TV and it's a quality product, so it makes sense that people in the ground can see it as well.
