It is quite unlikely that, although only half way through the season, any of our players would make the League One team of the year. Therefore if RL has cash to splosh around, he knows League One well enough to buy the best quality "out there" at our level, so to speak.
If he is buying (or signing) any our players, it will only be out of blind loyalty (both ways), whilst not necessarily making his squad promotion contenders.

Camara could definitely play in the Championship - and has the potential to play higher. Conor Grant is Championship standard. As is Houghton based on this season so far. Galloway too. Michael Cooper obviously has the potential to be an asset to a Championship club.

There are plenty in the squad.

Don't let recency bias blind you to that fact.

16 game unbeaten run?

Now all of a sudden we have a squad of duds, apparently.

What about your hero Hardie Justin?!
Camara maybe in future but still a bit of an uncut diamond and inconsistent.
Houghton I like a lot. But could he improve a Championship side. Doubt it. Ball winning is not great neither his set piece deliveries. Doesnt score many either.
Not sure about Grant.

Cameras passing confuses some players and his shooting is diabolical. Randell is a much better player.
I don't get the Camara love-in...

There's absolutely no chance that Lowe will come in for any of our players in January as we simply do not have anyone capable of playing at Championship level, either now or in the future.

Harsh.

Michael Cooper and Conor Grant definitely have the potential to play in the Championship, whilst I'd say there's a chance that Houghton and Ennis could, and perhaps Camara with some refinement.

With respect, your record of recognising footballing talent is pretty suspect so I understand why you think the players you mentioned could make it.

Also, I never said or even suggested that we have a 'squad of duds'. I simply said that we don't have anyone of Championship standard. We certainly have players capable of keeping us in League One but I'm not sure about keeping us in a top six spot.

Regarding the 16 game unbeaten run; don't you be blinded by that will you. There was only really one victory we had in that unbeaten run which I thought was notable and that was the game against Oxford. All the other games were against teams which I would expect us to give a good account of ourselves and even against some of those we could only draw.

We are not the team you and many others seem to think we are and that is becoming apparent now we are coming up against what I would call the 'Contenders'.

I’m flattered you know about my talent-spotting record. Pretty bizarre statement though.

I wasn’t referring to you regarding the ‘squad of duds’ comment although reading back you certainly don’t have any faith in the squad of players that set this league alight in September, October and November.

Are you suggesting we hammer every team we play, otherwise we’re sh*t?

Was the 3-0 v Sheff Wed not up to your high standards?

And what about when we’re winning-ugly, through grit, a will-to-win and team spirit - none of that anything to admire? As versus Ipswich ?

16 games. Unbeaten. In apparently the hardest ever league one, according to many.

And yet not a single player has the ability to perform in the league above, which is a particularly weak Chamionship this year.

You’re both hugely over-estimating the quality of the Championship, and condemning our own players at the same time.

Odd.

Yep, I never meant any were the finished article.

Hardie and possibly Ennis I'd also say could play in the league above too.

Both have plenty of years ahead of them before they reach their peak.

There are some really average teams in the Championship, and only 4 or 5 good ones.

So, you think because it’s a weak Championship then some of our players could play in that league?

Sounds like you’re the one condemning our players.

Considering the title of the thread then; do you think we will ‘get raided’ in January?

Our players will do what is best for their career & family- if an opportunity arises why can't they take it
I would rather we have a happy tight knit dressing room than players who are blocked by the management & told they cannot leave - this will create a extremely toxic environment & undo the exceptional team spirit we currently have.
The management come across as extremely reasonable & will do what is best for the club- if an offer comes in & it is exceptable for both player & club - the player will go with our blessing & our bank balance will increase
This is now football is - think of it as Joe Bloggs on the street applying for a better job & getting it- they hand in their notice, serve it & then move onto their new workplace

Just as our previous manager did, good to see you being so reasonable.

Considering the title of the thread then; do you think we will ‘get raided’ in January? I made my comments based on the title of the thread. As you’ve contested what I’ve said that am I right in assuming you think that we will be raided?

Your posts are getting more and more bizarre and dishonest.

I'm the one sticking my neck out and saying I believe in the players to perform in the league above. You're quite clear that none of them are good enough.

Presumably if we get promoted via the play offs you'll be ditching the entire squad then?

Some players would make the step up and thrive, others might not. It's a little bit about skill and ability, and a lot about attitude, potential and coaching. It's not a game of Fifa. And it's not the Premier League.

I would hope the club would turn down bids for any of our squad during January, because we're in a promotion push.
