Derek likes his 4-3-3 but wih the wide front men having speed and a little skill. The poacher role is usually only used when we're struggling. Unless we see a complete change is style we will see another striker to back up Taylor, Blissett will be the game changer and I think we have room for one more wide player to supplement Jervis, Ainsworth and Grant. Kennedy on loan would be a good fit.

Tbh we should feel more confident thus season as we have a backbone of a side whereas last season he ripped it apart

Spot on mate! This time last season, we hardly had a side!

I can't see us spending money on players for a good few years yet. Not many clubs do in L1 and L2 nowadays and those that do, are generally taking a massive gamble. Our club, I would have thought, have learned harsh lessons on that score.

I expect DA to bring in...

1 x Goalkeeper
1 x Left Back
1 x Centre Back EDWARDS tick
1 x Holding Midfielder NESS tick
1 x Creative/Offensive Midfielder LAMEIRAS tick
1 x Winger (in addition to AINSWORTH) GRANT tick
2 x Strikers

It also depends on where he see Threlkeld playing this season. If he sees him as a midfielder, then DA will be looking at the right back spot also.

THRELKELD/MILLER-------EDWARDS/SONGO'O---------BRADLEY/SOKOLIK-----------AN OTHER/SAWYER

JERVIS/AINSWORTH-----------------------CAREY/SARCEVIC-----------------------------GRANT/LAMEIRAS

You've put two players for every position apart from in midfield. We'd need another two midfielders or we'll be far too light.

Songo'o and Threlkeld can also play in there, as can Sarcevic, so I'm not sure DA will look further than Ness. I'd prefer Threlkeld in there and get a new RB.

Five new midfield players... This makes it sink in that Adams is building a team in case Carey leaves.

I like that we're getting business done early so that lads can gel during pre-season.

Any news on McCallum?

A striker (or two) and possibly another CM and we're there I think!!

On secondment in Kent
With those 6 vying for three spots behind the strikers, so you see JJ employed as a CF rather than a winger.

Has pace and power and showed glimpses of his finishing ability. Probably not a target man but would thrive off through balls from GC and RL.

Bring in a striker of a similar type to Caolan Lavery, to feed off through balls from GC/Fox and knockdowns from Taylor, and we're starting to look like a good team.

Got two very good youth striker prospects I would like to see given chances, but can't rely on them yet.

Any news on MM re-signing yet?
