Didn't expect to see Rodney Jack get a mention! Good player though, think I saw him in a cup game vs Watford.

This is bloomin' hard but here are five in no particular order.

1. Raul
2. Gazza
3. Bergkamp
4. Vieira
5. Sheringham

Teddy was about 40 when Argyle lost 5-0 at Upton Park in 2005 but was so much better than anyone in his West Ham side it was ridiculous. I could have included Henry but I saw him in his first season at Highbury and he got subbed at half time! Honourable mention must go to my old favourite Ian Wright who I saw break Cliff Bastin's record.

Nothing to do with Argyle.

Off to Football Forum with it please.

Oh, I forgot, the boss has started this thread.................. but I thought the mods were independent?

Perhaps he is the mod and the rest have gone on holiday!!!!!!

I've seen plenty of name players, a few of them against Argyle (Best, Mathews, Moore, Blanchflower, Jones, John Charles etc etc) however they weren't all great on the day. So … on the day (mostly against Argyle) … one for Argyle

What about Nicklas Bendtner

I do recall an 18 year old Bendtner ripping us a new one when he was on loan at Birmingham.
I recall raving about him to my mates and saying that he could be the new Van Basten

Memorable performances rather than I saw Gazza or Messi, or Teddy (arf), would seem a less average topic.

Even then not clear cut is it. Speedie was just irritating brilliant. But someone like Zamora one knew would go and score despite doing not much else.
