He does win tackles, his job is not to hit defence splitting passes its to help the team from the back. He has been one of our more consistent players this season. And no he will not score many goals or assists as its not what he is there for.
He is a defensive midfielder they never stand out they just get on with there job. Thought you would know that.
Exactly, look at likes of respected greats of the game Patrick Vera, Roy Keane, didn't hear Arsenal or Man utd fans complaining about there assist or goal ratio,

A slight difference there. Those guys won tackles, put themselves about. And did score occasionally.

Sliding doors does seem to be the perfect phrase, is this 'same old Argyle' where we always fudge it up and get the short straw? Or is it a brave new world where things are different?

I will say there's a horrible sense of inevitability and impending doom, but that's ingrained from past experience and not necessarily based on logic. Horrible if it happens again though, as it's yet another of those 'typical Argyle' moments to reinforce the cliche.
