Pubs for Exeter?

Something that confuses me about this statement...

Don't the police usually bring the kick off early to avoid any trouble (including too much drinking). Yet, they are happy with a pub to open at 9am? Seems to defeat the object of an early kick off to me.

A lot of city centre pubs open at 9am anyway, all Wetherspoons do. Plus, I imagine from a policing put of view it is far better to have the fans in a pub drinking, so you know where they are, then getting drunk on the train up and having them all over the place. The earlier kick of time simply reduces the amount of drinking time.

12 noon ko defeats the object 4 2 reasons: those who enjoy a drink will be topping up early on the journey up from the night before. Hitting the pubs at 9am will mean well oiled b4 kick off. Point 2 ) 2 sets of fans will b in and around the city centre on 2.occasions at the busiest timrs of thr dsy amongst xmas shoppers. 3pm ko would have meant entering city centre st a quieter time coyg
