There is no way any player likes hearing the self depreciating songs. They’re all wa#k. We used to sing original songs.

Can you give examples of "original songs"?

Knees up Mother Brown?
Moly Malone?

Let's be honest, there really isn't any real originality in chants and there hasn't been for decades.
Sure, there is the very rare examples, primarily player related but even the vast majority off those have always been a rip-off and not particularly original.

I do agree that the "how ish must you be..." is pretty rubbish but you could almost level that at the majority of chants if you want to get deep about it.
Football needs chants, good, bad & indifferent. The alternative is what you would get at AFL games, here in Australia and, trust me, you really don't want that.

(This isn't necessarily me lecturing you Daz but more an open response.)

I think they were singing "We're on our way.. to league 2" - In reply to our Championship chant. I thought it was pretty funny, and not really malicious. They were right as well!

I think it was original. I've never heard it sung since, anyhow.
