I agree with the above, not the flashiest player compared to the likes of Halmosi, Sinclair and Noone but I haven't seen a player since with a greater work ethic! Would love to see him back in green before he hangs up his boots! Legend.

He was one of those rare players who complimented an exceptional work rate with exceptional (for the level we were at) technical ability.

He may not have had the same "showboat" quality as Halmosi or Sinclair but he was on their level as far as crossing, passing, ball control etc went. Fantastic footballer.

Loved Norris - in my all time top 10 players over 30 years.

Went to Ipswich for the evening game when he was pulled out of the squad ahead of his imminent transfer to them.

We battled to a 0-0 draw (our goal living a charmed life). Steve MacLean missed a penalty late on to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory and Norris left a couple of days later.

Kind of sums up our fortunes in the ensuing months/years.
