Argyle are a really strange club to support, in that we SHOULD be pretty good. It makes it all the more frustrating and disappointing when you’re facing relegation to League 2 or getting played off the park by a Fleetwood. If you followed Stevenage you could handle it and accept your lot in life, but with Argyle there’s always the hope that you can be a really great club...
I fell out with my significant other last weekend quite badly, because we’d made plans for the evening and when Gillingham went 3-1 up I said I was no longer in the mood. She wasn’t happy.
I wouldn’t normally care about individual games at all to that extent and really shouldn’t let it affect me, but when they’re so important it’s hard not to let it ruin your weekend.
It’s not just football, it’s civic pride, it’s personal, it’s family and it’s yet more misplaced hope.
Coping mechanism though... try and gain some perspective, do something that makes you happy, and try and get back into meditation!
