With a more dispassionate look at who we were getting results against and how we were playing, rather than just the league table, I feel we might have gone a bit further trying to bring in an Azaz replacement, another striker or a more experienced centre back.

The January recruitment, or rather Ian Foster's recruitment and our decision to hand him control of it, does seem stranger and stranger.

Agree re: Fosters appointment turning out to be a disaster, but we have a recruitment team, it’s far to easy to blame everything on Foster, if we do that nothing will be learnt and possibly no improvement next time.

Well exactly, but we sidelined the recruitment team and let Foster choose his signings.

How and why that happened, will be a major part of a post-mortem IF we go down. Hopefully we get away with it, and it's a weird and unimportant footnote.

Perhaps the recruitment team were chasing unrealistic targets and Foster used his contacts to get some new faces in before it was too late. This data analysis is all well and good but has largely failed us in two transfer windows now. It don't impress me much!

So here we are, almost 2 months on from the opening post, and quite frighteningly history is set to repeat itself, although unbelievably Sheffield Wednesday are almost safe already and its Norwich we are relying on for favours not Sunderland.

To add another quirk of fate into the mix that I didn't anticipate back in early March is that we'll be going into the final game with Nancekivell in charge again. Let just hope for the same score line as 3-2 Argyle WILL be enough this time, but where on earth are those 3 goals coming from?
