Has anyone else had an issue with getting the 'sign on' email? I have tried twice this morning over a couple of hours; checked my SPAM box regularly and confirm they appear to have my correct email. Nothing received!

Yes, I must of tried 7/6 times, I then went on to confirm that it was a problem with receiving emails (Talktalk) so I created a new Email account (hotmail) and used that (I am now moving everything away from Talktalk how many other emails have I not received....)

Yes, me too. I've tried several times and checked spam box but no luck. I don't really want to use another email address.

Same as you Posty, I don't want to use an alternative address although I may have to if this continues.

Just registered. Email was about 1 minute for me. All worked fine.

The club videos now don't appear on You Tube instantly or not at all. I suppose the club want fans to view Argyle TV instead of the club You Tube channel.

At my work we have a problem with our emails not being received by TalkTalk email accounts. It's a real issue...TalkTalk accounts really aren't fit for purpose.

Not surprising and totally understand the decision but the video player on the new site just isn't as user friendly as the YouTube video player. Love the site apart from that.

I use an AOL email address, I always have done, and I never had an issue on the old website when booking tickets etc.

News Now is still not picking up articles from the new website which means less Internet 'hits'.

That would be fine if it worked. I'm getting the following message on the Parkway highlights...

Content Unavailable
HLS error. The video playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the video used features your browser did not support. Trying to handle MediaError.

And on Macca's Pilgrimage I get the audio but not the video...

Content Unavailable
HLS error. Details: `bufferStalledError`. Is attempting to recover: `true`

Some videos are now on You Tube. It looks now to be a delay before the club videos are uploaded to You Tube whereas before it was almost instantly.

I have been able to watch it on Argyle TV- I use a laptop but i am not tech savvy enough to understand why other people are having issues. I clicked on Argyle TV then when in Argyle TV page clicked on TV on the toolbar at the top which brought me to the lastest video which is the goals from parkway game

As someone who works in digital design, I think visually the website looks great.

From a user experience perspective, it’s lacking in a few areas. The use of uppercase letters makes it difficult to read. There are a few colours that would fail to be picked up by screen readers which would struggle with accessibility and the options in the menu are position too close together for mobile and desktop.

A bit shoddy from an agency that specialises in this area although definitely an improvement on the last site.

Hmm, here goes...

The cynic in me would predict that over time the delay will get bigger and the percentage of content shared will get smaller. Less will be free, more will be monetised.

It's not just media content for a football club, it's true of all things. Centralisation and monopoly rarely lead to increased choice and good deals for the consumer.

I read the blurb for this digital platform thing from the club and chuckled admiringly how they are using used the same marketing tactics that big business use. 'Its for the fans', 'all under one roof' 'one stop shop' etc etc. They want you to think they're doing it for us, that we are the beneficiaries of this centralisation. But think about it when things are all 'under one roof' you can dictate the door policy and admission fee.

Don't get me wrong it's a slicker and more professional Argyle these days and that's good, more money will be coming in for the team. But beware the future and be careful what you wish for. Argyle wants to be a sustainable Championship entity, with that will come the squeeze to get every single penny of the 'green pound' out of the Green Army.

Last time round in the league above the club just crossed their fingers and hoped folk would keep coming through the turnstiles, it got its fingers burned. Next time round they'll have your account details and access to anything and everything will be through their software, their platform and at their chosen price point.

All of the above might sound critical and cynical. In many respects though I totally applaud the approach. The vagaries of our fickle support base are legendary so grabbing folk by their conkers in the good times so you've got a good firm grip come the bad times is a smart move.

Just think about that

How nice to get an X-Isle viewpoint again. It’s been too long. Not his viewpoint, that’s excellent. Just a long time since we’ve had the benefit and It’s always a good read. :scarf:
