All this anti-Holloway stuff after all these years is pretty pathetic to be honest. If you want to see evidence of a real 'Judas', look at what Steve Bruce has just done to Sheffield Wednesday after four months in the job. Ian Holloway gave Argyle about 18 months and left for a bigger club because he wasnā€™t being supported behind the scenes and he has since apologised. I donā€™t remember this hysteria when Sturrock came back, or on the playing side Mickey Evans. Holloway should have been interviewed in the latest process, despite the fact that I feel Ryan Lowe will prove to be a great appointment. Interestingly, Wednesday fans have been massively supportive of Holloway getting the job at Hillsborough, despite the fact that he figures nowhere in the betting.

Why should he have been interviewed? Thatā€™s up to the Board isnā€™t it? Or should he have been interviewed just to placate those fans who think he can do no wrong.

Because of his experience of managing at every level and because he would have been a good appointment if the Ryan Lowe appointment has fallen through, which it looked like it might for a while. Ian Holloway is a good man and a good manager and sooner or later an enlightened club will give him a chance to prove it again.

Probably wrong, on every sentence above.

Good appointment no, would have divided the fan base.
Good man, no, proved to be untrustworthy

Your moral compass is way too high to enjoy football Martyn.

I've had the fortune to meet and chat to Ian Holloway, he was face to face a thoroughly decent man. He was given a chance to better himself (as Sturrock was) and took it, for two reasons - one he wanted to improve himself, the second was that his current employer (Argyle) were self imploding and going back on things that had been said to him.

The way he done it was poor, but Argyle were far from the innocent party.

The football we played under IH was excellent, he gave us hope of reaching the very top of level of English football - how many managers have done that for us?

Would he have divided the fan base? Possibly. But the large majority would have been won over if the current team started to play anything like his previous side did.

Thatā€™s just rubbish. What was your take when Sturrock returned? Judas?
