What a great day that was, can't believe that was forty years ago, we were the better side on the day and should have gone through, great memories though.

I’d just moved to Devon a few months before, and my sons and I would rotate between City, Torquay and Argyle each Saturday. That cup run turned us green for life.

I went with my dad for my first away game and only second match ever (the first being the quarter final against Derby).

It was a brilliant day and an occasion I will always remember.

I went with 2 friends on a National Coach excursion. It will never be forgotten as the coach got us into Villa Park about 5 mins before K.O. It ran out of petrol past 2300HRS. near St Austell on the homeward journey. A relief coach from Newquay was held up as the coach park gates were blocked by car owners attending Tall Trees night Club which kicked our at 0100 on the Sunday morning. I eventually got home circa 0230, not exactly laughing at the day's experiences.

I was behind the goal, right in line the shot. I still wonder at the ‘limbs’ if that one had gone in! Behind the goal at Derby too for the win, and at WBA to see Tommy Tynan score. Great days.
