I fear that Stoke will poach our recruitment team in the summer.

With you on this one.

I imagine that the club said to Elliot Turner that he could not leave when Stoke came calling due to the necessity of his role and that he would be authorised to leave when we had stabilised. I fear too that we have a similar agreement in place, with our recruitment staff, beyond this window.

If we aren't due to lose these people, a pay incentive ought to be offered. Clearly, they're very good at what they do.

Ennis signs for Stoke for an undisclosed fee on a 2.5 year contract.

Without Dewsnip Schumacher really doesn't have any contacts in football.

He’s hoping that Niall will be fit in League one is my guess. No experience at our level at all and is made of glass. They must have paid big money to get him out of that stupid contract at Blackburn.

Not much use to them if he doesn’t stay fit. Was good for us in league one, & he’ll have my thanks for that, but far too injury prone.

I like how he talks about playing for “the Gaffer“, didn’t seem too bothered to play for him at the start of this season though.

Not so sure, Blackburn were paying a high salary and clearly were not getting value from it, I think the fee might have been quite modest although wages will be high

There was talk of a £500K signing on bonus. No idea if that's true or not. I would've thought Blackburn would want to at least get that back.

Plus his age, etc. Blackburn saw something in him, they must've had some faith he was good.

The whole thing seems bloody bonkers.

Blackburn were reported as wanting £500k from Bolton, which is why Bolton pulled out. I'd imagine Stoke have paid the £500k. Stoke have been creating chances, they just haven't been finishing them. If he can stay fit Ennis is likely to score goals for them, but I'd much rather them than us relying on an injury prone striker. I am disappointed we didn't manage to get a striker in, but don't think Ennis was ever the right man for us.

It might be me rewriting history but everyone seems to be mentioning Nialls pace. I dont remember him being lightening - certainly not as quick as Hotdog.

Whilst he was a good player in League 1 and we were all upset when he left for free, we've all seen the massive step up in quality and athleticism in Championship and he hardly set the world alight at Blackburn.

Stupid, these clubs have money to burn. There will be no tears from me when the next club goes belly up due to financial mismanagement. If this doesn't work out the natives will be restless they are used to signing "names."

The deal is undisclosed but The Lancashire Telegraph understands the fee is in the region of 500K with future add-ons also included in the agreement.

Well at least he will not have to move house
Helicopter man relying on who he knows
Yes they have paid money but Niall has buyer beware all over him
500k is petty cash to dirty money city
It could all end in tears but because dirty city cash have so much money they won't be bothered if Niall is a flop- they will move onto their next purchase in the summer

Football fans can be very quick to turn on a Manager who relies on bringing in his old players and then not fairing particularly well......just saying!
