Ryan Law going on loan seems sensible with Miller's arrival. He needs regular game time at maybe National League level to show if he can develop further.
I hope that it's possible to add a striker of real quality, our three current strikers weren't consistently reliable last season.
We also seem to have persistent injury problems at the back, so adding another utility type defender wouldn't do any harm.
I came to the conclusion last year that Law will have a decent professional career, I am just not sure it is at upper end league 1/lower level Championship. He has something about him going forward (I much prefer him going forward than Grant), the issue is sometimes his positioning defensively. He won’t improve on this until he has a good tranche of games. Unless it is to a money bags exEFL team I‘d be disappointed if he went to a NL side, he is better than that. Exeter have not had any incomings yet! Though I really think he should go to league 2, ideally someone who plays wing backs.

If he goes on loan, plays a lot we’ll see if he comes back at a level to play for us regularly having ironed out the positional issues. I think he might.

The deceiving thing with Law is a lot of us still see if as a young youth product but he’s 22.

Still relatively young but he certainly needs back to back games and that’s not something he will get here now we have signed Miller.

He needs to bulk up on strength and really nail down a good run of games.

Read this article last night and was interested by Schueys comments. No idea if the additional 3 are loans or permanent though. I suspect a couple of loans if they aren't going to be sorted until after Spain.

Re Lawsy this season has to be pivotal for him as far as being a pilgrim goes. Now 3rd in line for his position he will need to excel out on loan or else I fear his career is away from HP.

We saw this the last time were making a run for the Championship. The team left the youth programme behind as the 1st team football improved the youth and young fringe players didnt. Hopefully the academy is better set and the fringe young lads are up for the challenge.

Before Miller came in, I was up for Law to stay and fight for his place and not go out on loan and now we’ve brought Miller in it would make sense I think of Law goes out on loan till January gain some first team experience and then the coach’s can run their eye over him once he’s back

What happens then, though? He'll come back and still have two experienced, well-paid pros ahead of him for his position. With the best will in the world, he isn't going to be picked ahead of Grant and Miller is he?

I agree with Tugboat - I think Miller's signing is the beginning of the end for Law.

With law also I would not be surprised if the player we are after is Steven sessegnon. Offered new contract a few weeks ago but not yet signed. A player like law that needs first team football but not going to get it at Fulham with them being promoted.

Based on what I have seen, Ryan has to up his game to become Championship material. I don't think that playing only a few games will improve him. However, going out on loan to another L1 side and playing as a left back may we'll help his development, where he can hone his defensive skills.
Play well for half a season, get a new contract and replace Grant once Grant's contract expires and he leaves.
Alternatively, Tugboat's scenario comes true.

Incidentally, can anyone else read Schuey's comment about Butch, "He's got loads of quality" without reading it with a Scouse accent?

I'm not so sure given Miller's injury record.

Grant will provide that.

I expect Miller to play more home games and be used sparingly for impact at away games.

Grant will provide a more structured presence so that will give us a decent option.

Law is more of a Miller mould but I can’t see us keeping Law back for Injury cover. It wouldn’t be fair.

I guess any loan deal will have a recall clause dependant on the length of loan.

I also think that out new RWB signing could act as cover at LWB if needed.

Still think it could be Alfie May.Currently injured but perhaps by the time we get back from Spain he will be ok.
