Worth noting he is also from Derby, so he will be returning home for this contracts

3.5 years is a bit of a gamble based on a couple of good years in Ireland, especially as Rotherham will hope to be in the Championship for much of that time. Will watch how it works out with interest.

I doubt that he has ever been to Derby tbh.

Let’s forget and move on.

No doubt we’ll sign someone underwhelming to compensate

Would you prefer that to signing no-one?

Id prefer us to just be patient.

What we need now is better players than we have.

As l’ve said before, on our budget and location, unfortunately that isn’t easy. As this transfer actually shows.

It’s Derry (or Londonderry, depending on your persuasion) not Derby.

I've said it even more times :p

Really liked him when he was at Argyle, sometimes a player fits a club and he really seemed to. 16 goals in 24 this season 😮
Could be ideal for us but can he repeat his goal scoring in division 1? Likely to find out next season in any case.

That’s a ridiculously long contract for an untried player at this level. Quite glad we didn’t sign him if that’s what he was after.
Totally agree, that is a ridiculous deal given he is unproven in English professional level football. I'm glad Argyle never competed with that.
He must be on relatively cheap wages for that to make sense to Rotherham, otherwise they are taking a big gamble.

I'm confident he isn't better at any aspect of football than our current 4 forwards are. And none of them have a contract that ends in 4 seasons time.

So I take it you have watched him regularly to be so confident?

And I'm sure you have seen enough of him to decide that not giving him a 4 year deal at League One/potentially Championship level is a mistake 🙄

Just think, he could be another Rory Patterson and still doing his shopping around Rotherham in 2025.

I'm not making the decision. But you said you were confident so just wondering what the evidence was....

Think that's a shame all round, as we would have been stronger with him in our ranks and will he play there with Smith, Ladapo, Grigg and Kayode all there??
