I guess for those that want to go but can't get tickets, this is an option. Seems they have sold 206 tickets so far for the match. Sitting with home supporters, but probably quite a lot of green around !

What do you think the chances are that Chelsea won't sell out all of their allocation, and release more tickets to Argyle nearer the day?

Zero.

Live football tickets is where I would go now. Pay 15% more and get in. I’ve seen Barca fans celebrating a goal in the home end and without an issue. it will be the same on 5/2.

To be honest l didn’t realise all of it was.

l guess if there are elderly people you hope some may be responsible thinking of others.
Tbf, Whilst I feel sympathy (and would agree, in a seated area have a point), in this instance it is those who have ignorantly brought a ticket in a standing area that are in the wrong. Therefore they shouldn’t expect those in front to sit down. It was advertised as a standing area before tickets went on sale.

Asking people to sit in an authorised standing area is the same as expecting someone in an all seated area behind you to stand so you can stand!

It is however an absolute joke, they have advertised this as a standing area whilst not locking the seats in the upright position. This is going to lead to the same arguments as those standing in seated areas but reversed this time, standers will have the moral high ground and won’t be able to be kicked out!Safe Standing will only work where they you give no choice. By that I mean designate it a standing area but don’t let those who wish to sit, be able to pull their seat down and then shout sit down to those in front. Seems crazy they didn’t designate one tire as standing and one as seating IMO.

Fully agree. It’s not like it obviously wasn’t stated.

To be honest l was buying a ticket even if you had to hop on one leg all 90mins.

I just feel though that some people may not be able to stand for 90mins but not have access to another designated area as their physical condition isn’t serve enough. Agree about the separate areas too. Really valid point.

Its actually an opportunity to see first hand how safe standing is being introduced. Kind of exciting as it’s something l always use to do.

What's happened at several away games this season is fans not using their allocated seats.
Sometimes when you arrive at the stadium the stewards might say sit where you want, I'm not sure if this would be the policy of that particular club or the stewards just making a decision off the cuff.
Fair enough but it then has a knock on effect of fans sitting in other fans seats who then have to search for a seat or if there's a group who booked together then looking for enough empty seats for all of them.

Also groups of fans, for example 10, standing in an area of 7 seats.

Both of the above has been commonplace at away games this season.

Lostwithiel, Capital of Cornwall.
Whats the fascination to going to see Argyle play the European Champions?

So lots of ST holders buying them for other people then!
Well I managed to get the 2 season ticket holders in my network 1 ticket each. Leaves me 1 short as the Junior General is only a Flexi Holder this season after being a ST holder with me the past 11 years, because he now plays football on a saturday for Lostwithiel Reserves. I remain hopeful all 3 of us can get into Stamford Bridge.

They were £42 plus admin fee a few days ago. Glad you got your tickets though.

The allocated seats/standing space thing seems pretty simple to me.

At Hillsborough, our seats were taken by someone else, which was fine because it was nowhere near a sellout. Ditto Brum, I imagine.

Chelsea will be a complete sellout, so if even a few people try to sit anywhere other than their allocated spot, it creates chaos. It’s simply selfish behaviour.

I don't think I've ever seen an away supporters section sit down. Especially teams that would visit Stamford Bridge, probably didn't even enter their thought process that people would want to sit - hence making the whole away end safer.

The problem is that with Chelsea being one of the five 'early adopters' of safe standing is that it meant they had to provide a number of safe standing seats to away supporters. 12,000 safe standing spaces have been. Normally for Premiership games only one tier of The Shed end is available for away fans. Cup rules requiring 15% of the ticket allocation has meant the entire 6,000 allocation being safe standing.

Below is the guidance - no mention of the conflict between those wanting to sit.

I suggest post match that this issue is raised with the authorities as surely the option of a seat should be available - Cup game or not.
