Broom was in the side for our 16 game unbeaten record and looked a constant threat with his direct running and energy
1 point in 15 coincides with Mayors return
just saying like
DM flatters to deceive even if he is good to watch cus there is simply no end product.
broom is completely the opposite and more effective IMHO
I can't get over people who blame our bad run of results on one man i.e Danny Mayor !
Nothing to do with the fact that we have played superior teams in the last few games (barring Rochdale) and possibly a few other players have "gone off the boil" recently ??
Oh no...it is all down to DM (probably our best player !!) God give me strength

I put broom going off form a lot to Galloways injury. Timespan it matches and he is missing the passes into space behind the defence

Broom looked good when he was moved to RWB for the Sunderland game (he was awful at LWB), he also provided several crosses which is something that's been lacking from the right side.
Edwards is a steady Eddy but the team needs more from that RWB position, especially at home.
I think that Garrick is the best option for RWB, particularly, if Ennis is nearing full match fitness. He is strong, fast and can cross the ball accurately.

But he's not a right back, he plays as a RWB which at times is further forward than Camara or Jephcott (when he plays).
I just feel we need more from the right side and Broom might be the answer at RWB.

I'd like to see Broom as RWB.

However, if we play a more attack-minded right wing back, I think we need a more defensive-minded left wing back.

Either that or a double pivot at CM, which there's not really room for in the current 5-3-2, so a change of formation would be needed.

I'd like us to consider 4 at the back on occasions. I think we have the squad to make 4-2-3-1 a success.

Cooper / Edwards (Bolton), Scarr, Wilson, Grant / Houghton, Randell (Edwards) / Broom, Camara, Mayor / Ennis (Hardie)

Would much prefer this than a return to the football dark ages by signing a lump to play up front.

Doubt anything other than a 5-3-2 will ever happen though.

Not sure why that should make a difference. There was no reason for lost confidence - he’d played a lot of football and Lowe probably thought he needed a rest, especially with DM in reserve.
Broom probably wanted to keep playing but Lowe was always going to replace as soon as DO was available.
Not the best way to motivate a player who was instrumental in us going 16 unbeaten.

I think this is basically right.

Our poor run of form and Mayor's return from injury are just coincidence. Without him being our best player against Wycombe, scoring against Wigan and turning the game in our favour against MKD the recent spell could have been even worse.

The sharp increase in the quality of our opposition has been a much more important factor. We've also conceded 10 goals in the past five games. Very hard to win if you're shipping two goals every time - and we haven't kept a clean sheet in the league since we played Bolton over two months ago.

Our attacking play hasn't been sparkling either, but the bigger problem is at the other end of the pitch.

I don't think we use the qualities that DM has to our full advantage especially when we are in a position to decide the next move i.e. free kicks in the final third.

I've lost count of the number of times we've had a free kick and line everybody up on the edge of the box hoping one of them will get a head on a cross from either Grant or Houghton. On most occasions the opposition have only two, perhaps one man in the wall and a load of space behind them. Why are we not pushing the ball down the side of the wall for DM to run on to and attack the box? No-one ever goes near him when he's in the box with the ball at his feet. We are so predictable in these situations and it really hacks me off.

He is a quality player but we really are not clever with how we use him. I hope Schuey can become a bit inventive and less predictable when we are in such positions as it can really benefit us just as it benefited Sunderland at the weekend with their different corner routine. We do not play to our strengths as much as I'd like us too.

Welcome back, Sam, after nearly 5 years, and on the day that we only need 10 more points to avoid relegation.

Danny today was the only player i felt wanted the ball to feet and could do something with it. Was very unlucky to go off in my opinion.

Made sense to me. There are a lot of games in a very short period of time and I reckon he was taken off to keep him fresh.

I wouldn't be amazed to see Pan on Charlton's list, he's a few cracking games against them.
