Mr Knibbsworth, towards the end of last season there were more than one or two on here suggesting that RL should go, and quite vociferous they were too, and yes they were all posting under pseudonyms - pseudonyms that have not darkened Pasoti's door for a while now......

Ha ha, unpopular was requested...... I think it is a good point about hold up play relieving pressure, last season demonstrated how the lack of that someone filling that role can be so damaging. I think I may have under-estimated that at the time to be fair but I grew increasingly frustrated at not just how few goals he scored but how few he was actually involved in despite the more "fashionable" opinion a the time.

Had a warm glow thinking back as I wrote the post and will always have a soft spot for Mickey for his Argyle career as a whole but at the time that was def how I saw it.
To me, Mickey Evans is the closest we've had in my lifetime to one of us being out there on the pitch. For that alone he's a legend in my eyes.

A more leftfield one:

We should drop 'Plymouth' from our name and just call ourselves 'Argyle FC' - emphasising that we are based in Plymouth but are the flagship club for the whole of Devon and Cornwall.

Goes back to the origins of the club and quite like the one word, similar to ‘Arsenal’.

Worth it purely to stop everyone just calling us Plymouth.

I really liked the idea of merging the three Devon clubs and playing as Devon Diamonds in the state of the art Clotted Cream Bowl to be built near Ashburton. The stadium featured ground breaking stands in which all seats offered a view of the pitch and could be occupied by fans of any height. Club colours were to be proper green, red and yellow hoops with an away strip of proper yellow, red and green hoops. Surely an idea whose time will come again!

Semper has ran its cause. In no way is it inspirational or possible for the crowd to join in with.

That really is unpopular :ROFLMAO:

No judgment on this thread, but I’d say music for teams walking out isn’t meant to be inspirational or to be joined in with. It’s almost like a ceremonial and traditional thing, for which Semper is perfect.

For what it’s worth I tend to agree. For me It hasn’t the immediate connection with Argyle that perhaps it should.

Despite having listened to it for decades the first thing I think of is American Marine marching bands and Majorettes.

That being said I’m not sure what I would suggest in its place
